Steal Away (The Night) - 2

Suicide Jam

Source: Unreleased live recording - 1981/1982

Note: I've never heard officially if there was a working title for this. I'd heard a guy at a record show say it was called: "The man on the flying trapeze," or "The Flying Trapeze," or something, then heard that again on a message board. But someone once refered to it as "...that Suicide Jam," and it stuck with me ever since. I wish I remembered who it was that coined that title! This was the instrumental tune the band did during the Diary of a Madman tour inbetween the guitar and drum solos. The best version I've ever heard is from the November 30th, 1981 recording from Cardiff, Wales.

Suicidal Show (Suicidal Blues) - 1

Source: Unreleased Quiet Riot studio session (Live) - 1975

Note: In its rawest form: the engineer (James) misquotes the songs title causing the band to burst into a short impromptu, yet jovial, blues jam,... with lyrics even, before two attempts to get the song going.

Suicidal Show - 2

Source: Unreleased Quiet Riot demo - 1975

Note: There are no guitar solos or over dubs on this recording. This is different from the Magic Wand recording.

Suicidal Show - 3

Source: Magic Wand e.p. - 1975

Note: I've also heard the Magic Wand e.p. refered to as the CBS demos.

Tin Soldier

Source: Quiet Riot I - 1977

Note: Originally recorded by Small Faces on their 1967 record There Are But Four Small Faces. Also appeared on Humble Pie's 1981 release Go for the Throat.

We just had a Riot

Source: Unreleased live recording - 1978/1979

Note: This was the reprise of We're gonna have a Riot, played at the end of some of the 1979 club sets.

We're gonna have a Riot

Source: Unreleased - 1978

Note: Recorded during the Quiet Riot II sessions. No vocals or solos were ever put on this recording.

We've got the Magic

Source: Quiet Riot II - 1978

You can't kill Rock and Roll

Source: Diary of a Madman - 1981

You drive me Crazy

Source: Quiet Riot II - 1978

Note: The begining of this song (strictly guitar speaking) turned out to be the begining of You said it all.

You looking at me looking at you - 1

Source: B-side to U.K. Crazy Train 7" single - 1980

You looking at me looking at you - 2

Source: edit from the Prince of Darkness e.p. (Japanese import?) - 1980

Note: I have been told that there are two versions of this song, the latter being remixed. I've never noticed too much difference(?)

You said it all

Wow! I never knew there was so much material out there to find. Maybe I should start finding some of that very "rare" stuff.

Yes, those are real songs. "All our Heros", "We just had a Riot" and his solo from the 1982 tour are all easily found on bootlegs. The other songs, I don't know if those are available for download. They are real though.

None of the songs on The Randy Rhoads Years are the same versions that appear on the original two Quiet Riot albums
