How cool it must have been to have Randy as a guitar teacher.I wish someone would interview Joe about that. The only thing I saw was the japanese tribute to Randy which was cool but it didn't talk to Joe long.

I agree, it would've been cool to to hear from Joe
but he has vanished ... or atleast become a born-again Christian.

What would that have to do with him talking about Randy Rhoads? Being born - again doesn't remove your memories or your talents, it only gives you a new direction to focus your talents.

I'd bet that if someone asked Joe about Randy, he'd be happy to discuss the subject.

Well, just because he has left the musicbussiness

Jake kinda' stayed in contact with the former
webmaster of JakeELee.com and he's endorsing
new products nowadays :)

Rumour has it that Joe was a lousy songwriter :?

Well he did write a couple of the songs on Down To Earth so he can't have been a great songwriter. That may have been why when Ozzy was looking for a new guitar player a while ago he stressed that they had to be able to write brilliant riffs and that he didn't care about flash. I don't think he should have gone back with Zakk, he should have got someone new or Doug Aldrich or whatever, anyway, back to the topic.

if I were to pick a new Ozzy guitarist I'd pick someone
that's heavy, yet melodic ... kinda like Tony Iommi
meets Randy Rhoads ... wait, then we'll have Zakk :P

Heavy and melodic ... maybe Synyster Gates.
The obvious choice would be Dimebag, if he was alive :(

Glenn Tipton would be interesting to hear with him since he is very talented at both rhythm playing and lead, but then again, he's no youngster. Ozzy seems to prefer young guitarists.

I have a recording of Joe playing Mr Crowley and he snaps a string and just keeps going! It was great and you can hear the string die.
