I remember being really blown away that Ozzy actually played some Black Sabbath songs other than the standards (Iron Man, Paranoid) when I saw him on the OZZMOSIS tour...in fact I mentioned it to a friend how cool it was he was playing something different!

I like to think that Joe Holmes wanted Ozz to try something a little different and give a treat to the fans! :D

Hi Canuck'
I saw him on Ozzmosis as well and he added Children of the grave and Sabbath bloody sabbath as well, they also did Sweet leaf and War Pigs which had been in the set on other ozzy tours as well as Iron man and Paranoid (which you mentioned).

Cool! Yeah, I just remember being surprised that he did some of these songs, as Oz usually has such a limited setlist, one that he's comfortable with playing, and he doesn't like to "stray off the beaten path" in terms of song selection. It was a nice treat!

I wonder if Oz will ever be playing any of these Sabbath tunes again, or changing up his usual setlist? I've hesitated to go see him again, as, honestly, I've thought the last couple albums were tripe, and from the sounds of it, we'd get a couple of new songs, then "the usual".

Really, I love Oz's music, but he should really, really do what folks like Megadeth are doing - playing classic, full albums from beginning to end. I know there was talk about him doing this for BOO and DOAM, but that was false, if I remember right. And really, as big of a fan as I am, Oz just doesn't (didn't then, either) have the chops or range to do some of the songs off those two albums.

I don't think that was proven false. I'm pretty sure Ozzy really wanted to do all the original songs, but after practicing them, he realized he didn't have the range for them anymore. (Not that that's ever stopped him from playing anything live anyways. haha)
