Don't beat your self up. You were genuine. I think that is what matters here. No one is going to criticize you for your efforts as long as they were done in good faith.

That is where all the skepticism has come from is that too much crap in yesteryear was not done in good faith.

Thanks Danny and everyone else who commented. Shockwave, I did send 2 more over the span and did not get a response from him either time. A real shame because he really did seem so genuine. Telling me it was Philly 81 and labeled "T Theatre" which led me to Tower Theater which is where they played in Philly. Someone who didn't know much about that tour wouldn't know that so it sounded so promising. That was just one of the reasons. The whole thing looked so sure and so strong. But... I was tricked just like many others have been in the past. A real shame. This would have been so damn cool

From everything you said it does still sound like the guy was genuine, I would be more that he just finally realized what he has and is doing what others are doing...waiting for a payout.

Not sure if you answered my previous question or not about whether or not you think this is the same guy that posted at The Metal Den about 2 years stating he had found footage left over from his uncle that had just passed away. Sounds pretty close ..I noticed you asked him about it in the same thread but he never got back to anyone on it.

Well... from the very beginning I think you've been fooled by someone who knows exactly how important this footage is to you and to most other people here on this board. He probably acted like someone who doesn't really care, not knowing how valuable material he has, meanwhile making you mad! And good chance that person at times sits back, checks out this board and having fun to see people 'freaking out' about new footage that (he knows) will never come. Usually when somebody really got something, they come to business quick or at least show some evidence. For somebody who takes exactly 1 year to answer an email, well...

This reminds me of when I was a kid and some of my friends would say they have all these cool Atari 2600 games that I could borrow, but it never happened no matter how much I tried cause they were full of s*&%!
A lot of people are just full of bs! :)

True, but even if footage of another gig materialises then what? The quest for something new seem to outshine what we have in the archives, that's how it seems to me anyway.

I know what you mean. Personally, I sometimes forget how good the stuff we currently have is. Sure there are plenty of moments where you can scream "get the camera off Rudy!" but stuff like After Hours, Palladium and Chicago are just awesome to see. Heck I even enjoy seeing "Over the Mountain" and "Mr. Crowley" from the box set even if the camera is only on Randy for short spurts. Just getting to see the environment is pretty neat if you think about it.

Gonna go for 50/50 on this. 50% chance he actually has something but is just stringing us along and 50% chance he is full of shit all the way around. But this sounds like a pretty plausible scenario.

I cannot believe it... :) If anyone has a Randy Rhoads-gig videod and had it stucked in their atticks for three decades, of course the first thing you do, when you actually locate your films, is that you put it on youtube, right? Heck, maybe not... :D This brings me around thinking where is the rest of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Knebworth 1976 footage... Presuming that they filmed the whole thing... well, you never know :)

I never did think of the possibility that he realized what he has and is waiting for cash... I mean, it's a possibility but I feel like he would've had the decency to tell me that or give me some sort of update, but nothing still!

And Shockwave, I do not believe that this guy and the "uncle's footage" guy is the same but hey you never know. If anything else comes up I'll let you all know but I say at this point that this lead is dead...

We do have some cool stuff but not even 1 pro filmed concert! Every band has at least ONE filmed. And it's not like we're talking about some no name band here! We're talking Ozzy Osbourne! Signed by Jet Records and managed by some of the greediest profit hunters in the industry. They would've filmed at least 1! There were 3 segments on TV promoting the tour but not one show in the first 3 months was recorded after they just bought a $250,000 stage and they're all dressed up in costumes? Something isn't right so no, I'm not happy with what we have now because imagine if the level of material we have on randy was available for a band like Zeppelin? People would be so pissed, RR is my Zeppelin so that's why I always try and make something happen if I'm given the chance.

Anyway, y'all take care and I'll let you know if he says anything to me, good or bad. But don't count on it :(

It's really odd. I believe there is footage out there somewhere. As stated, nearly every single band you can think of, whether ultra famous, or kind of underground, has some decent pro shot footage of more than just a hand full of songs.

It just seems like when it comes to Randy, its in some sort of secret society or something for some reason.. Hell, even the documentary that Margolis shot will never see the light of day.. WHY!?????

Just doesn't make any sense.. Maybe one day.

And there would have been some pro-shot footage, but Randy died before the scheduled date. That's what I find hard to believe, that RR fans can't accept the fact that the band was planning to film a show, they date was picked and the schedule set... and then a freak accident claimed Randy before the filming could be done.

Now, bootleg film is a different story. There is some of that, we've seen it. There may be more, who knows?

As for the Capitol Center film and the documentary, that is all Sharon Osbourne wanting complete control of what is released. If she doesn't control it, we don't get to see it. She's got more money than any of us and more clout.

This guy we've been talking about in this thread very well could have had the footage he claimed to have had but was contacted by Sharon and sold it to her - which we will never know, because as a part of the sale she'd have required that he not discuss it. OR one of those rich Japanese investors could have read about it here, researched things and bought it...

The soundcheck footage came about because "Lintball" didn't know what he had. He knew it was Randy and that wasn't a common thing to see on film, but it was a part of a DVD of interviews - with Ozzy, Rory Gallagher and Stevie Ray Vaughan - not an RR DVD. When he got such a big response from TK about the RR part, he ran with it for a while, even though he didn't have anything else.

If there is any more high-quality film in existence, we won't see it as long as Sharon Osbourne is at the helm, unless, maybe, she were to put it out as a tribute to Ozzy after his death. Jack or Kelly might be willing to put stuff out after mom's gone, who knows?

It is all just a bizarre series of events. I knew there was a show scheduled to be filmed. But I still think at least one other was filmed professionally. They played some festival type events as well. Seems like every band I can think of has some "lost footage" that eventually makes its way out. Seems like with Randy stuff, we are headed off at the pass at every turn.

And yeah, we all know Sharon is keeping things from coming out.. But why?? She likes money.. A DVD or blu ray featuring live footage or Randy and Ozzy would sell. Ozzy fans buy it, Randy fans buy it. What is the point of holding it hostage? Even if Ozzy sounds bad on it, it can be fixed.

We all know the story, and the reasons why. It just seems bizarre, that here it is 2015, and we are pretty much watching the same footage we have had since the late 80s and early 90s. I realize there have been at least a few new things come out. I just thought there would be more by now.
