What's the story behind the guitar Randy is playing?

In the Ron Sobel book, Randy is pictured holding a guitar in a bar/restaurant that looks like a penis/balls...
I haven't read where any one has asked about this or provided any info on this.
So what's the story behind that photo? Who made that guitar? Who owned it at the time? Who owns it now? How did that idea come about to get pics of Randy with it? What did Randy think when he first seen that guitar? Anyone know?

Ron is active on Facebook, maybe Ian can ask him about that... I remember reading something Ron had said about it, but I can't recall where I read it or what was said.
