Actually closer to 3.5X the price if you factor in dollar inflation, but 10G still not worth it, plus its way uglier than the original

Indeed, another one milking the Rhoads legacy... This tops the rest IMO. 30 guitars * 9,999$ = 300 000$ richer.

And what an ugly guitar this is  I dont want to overreact but this might the ugliest guitar I have ever seen in the higher price range. Why an extra pickup? Why the plate on the headstock? So many poorly chosen "extra's".
The Guitar that started a revolution.
Don't support thieves. Support the true luthier and artist Karl Sandoval.
Good choice on design Karl, no one will steal this one from you.

Anyone on this forum who would buy this / likes this?

Karl has to live off the only decent guitar he ever built - 34 YEARS AGO - proof he's NOT a master luthier by any stretch.

Also note that it's now called a DOT V with no mention of Randy... he doesn't have the backing of anyone related in any way to Randy.

Is this even still available? The site says 2009... which also begs the question, did anyone buy one?

I also thought it was odd that there was no mention of Randy, either.

I'll bet the price is still very inflated. PASS!

Not the 30th anniversary and he wasn't in tune with the recording... The kid was pretty good though. The new thing is to throw extra BS on something to justify extra cost. He could of built a limited run and made it closer to the original for $3-5K. I at least would have though about it and then said no. My 2 cents.

No, I didn't mean to say it was the 30th Anniv guitar, just that I thought it was interesting to see Karl's shop.

You mean, the guitar he assembled from a used neck, and a mighty might brand body? :O

As a guitar maker, I'd be interested to see the current status of the back of the neck joint. The mighty might body has holes for a bolt on neck. The neck used is the same. Obviously to get to blend that he did (the smooth transition from neck to body), it would have been filled in with little bits of wood, or, car dent filler. Or both. I wonder how thats holding up?
