Ummm, what does obsession have to do with cheap Chinese guitars? Not all Chinese knockoffs are crap, but you won't get the sound you want out of them. If you want the Gibson sound and can't afford a Gibson, buy an Epi.

Personally I'd recommend becoming obsessed with Randy and Ed's ability ore than their sound. Once you can reproduce what they play and create new music on that level, only then should you obsess over getting the tone down.

Again, just my opinion.

I know, a lot of people here poo poo anything Chinese. The Epi guitars are made there, and the knockoffs come from the same Epi factories.
