I noticed this awhile a go but just thought of it again now, Randy's famous lp appears to have silver hardware. Every lp custom from time frame that ve seen has gold on it

Anyone know anything about this

from the top of my head he switched pickups or pickup covers because he can be seen with gold and silver covers
or its because gibson was being lazy i know that randy had gold covers on pickups

sorry did not mean anything rude, mean,or disrespectful. By lazzy i minght that all gibsons could be made with a little more care

what i am trying to say is that for ($3000-$10,000) a guitar depinding on what one you get the headstock could be made better

i take verry good care of all my guitars and i have had my gibsons headstocks break many times

i take verry good care of my guitas because one day when i have children and they become old enought i will give them my collection keep in mind i am 16 and have a total of 8 guitars 3 of them are hand made and ive hade no problem with them at all thats the beauty of woodshop who says school is all bad

anyways sorry if i have afended anybody verry sorry

Randy's Les Paul had gold hardware. The Gibson RR model LP Custom was made to exactly copy Randy's. They spent time with his guitar to make their aged copy. this is the result:

if it looks nickel, it's because of the stage lights :)

You are absolutely correct! Just look how black the vest looks in those pics. It's an ink blue vest. It sometimes looks purple in other pictures. Can't judge by the concert photos. He did have gold hardware or they wouldn't have done that with the replica like Paul mentioned.

Yeah, I thought the Lp was stock, I also don't personally like the RR custom from Gibson, I would have preferred that they base it off of what it looked like when he used it rather then almost 30 years later after sitting in a glass display in a vault somewhere

Huh? What is it that is different?

I know they spent time with the guitar to recreate it so the aged is based off of it now and the VOS just doesn't look like his to me. I think that their recreation of the aged white isn't quite right at least to my eyes it looks different than the normal aged colour of most

So you want a recreation based off pictures? I think it looks great, personally. I wouldn't pay stupid amounts of money for it, but I think they did a good job on it.

It just boils down to personal preference.
