In response to the interviewer saying there is a long discussion among fans about more footage 'out there', Harald says, "Yeah, and Cliff, too... in fact someone has the whole tape of Day on the Green"
Is he talking about Metallica with Cliff @ Day on the Green? That's how I hear it...

That's how I hear it as well.Paul Wolfe wrote:Is he talking about Metallica with Cliff @ Day on the Green? That's how I hear it...
15:30 Do you know for a fact they were always filmed, the 'Day on The Green's'?
15:33 Oh yes, yes I know for a fact exactly.
Then at 16:00 he talks about a fire in Bill Graham's (DOTG promoter) vault a couple years ago that maybe destroyed some tapes....
Nice to hear but how does he know 'for a fact' they always filmed the DOTG's? Based on what? Yes one would expect such a big event would be always filmed. But still there are many photos of that show giving a good overview over the entire stage and there is no evidence of any filming...... (?)
If it was filmed it must have been from bigger distance I guess. Who knows...
Anyways interesting stuff, thnx for posting this!

I doubt there is. There is of Metallica though in their famed DOTG. MTV holds the rights to that from what I understand. The cool thing on that is Cliff is front and center, kinda like Rudy in all the Ozzy stuff...

The "Journey" set was filmed, so who's to say the whole lot wasn't......why have all those crew and not take advantage of filming the lot....
Re: The Footage of Day on the Green DOES exist. . .
There was a guy that Tom and I met at one of the memorials years ago and he claimed that Day on the Green was filmed and a bunch of other shows aswell.. Said he was watching MTV and they were playing Ozzy concert dates and the footage was playing like a backdrop. He said he never saw it again...Ive always kind of thought it might have been a pic that he mistook for footage since nobody else has made the claim but him....but after all this time Heavy metal holocaust footage shows up so who really know anymore....

Journey played there in 1980 and 1982. ( (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_on_the_Green#1980 )rokket wrote:The "Journey" set was filmed, so who's to say the whole lot wasn't......why have all those crew and not take advantage of filming the lot....
So far I haven't seen any footage from bands who played on DOTG '81.
Donnie: I spoke the same guy I guess (his name was Doug) and he swears he saw footage from this DOTG show at MTV. He saw Ozzy and Randy in background while tourdates were scrolling. The footage was from distance and he could see Randy playing the polka-V. He only saw it once. If true then I wonder if they maybe did film it from soundboard area....?
See: Day on the Green Possible Camera Angle
People (like RRP, Phil Anderson) who took photo's that day, all say they didn't see anyone filming. We can verify that by checking the photos, there are no cams anywhere to see. So if it was filmed it must have been from bigger distance so people closer to the stage never noticed it. In a big stadium there are plenty of spots to do that. The 'mystery' continues!
