Great info on this thread, and I've never seen the shot with Randy & his assistant before, very nice! As far as dates are concerned, if Randy was complaining about jet lag due to just coming back from London then the photo shoot would likely haved been November of 1981, right after the remainder of the Europian "DiaryM tour was canceled. And he likey had the black LP Custom far earlier than anyone realizes if it was listed in a Nov '81 issue of circus. Think about it: magazines always mark the issue a few months in advance for some reason. Not only that, but the writers have to submit their stories to their editors well before the issue is published. So based on that, it's likey Randy had the black LP Custom for closer to a year before his passing ,instead of just several months like we've always heard.

Thanks for posting the shot with Randy & his assistant. I thought I'd seen them all. Hopefully the two new Rhoads books will include loads of never before seen pics including that one.

Yea, that's a Black Beauty 3... Very nice guitar... I never seen any pictures of it on the stage though...
