Does anyone else notice that Randy seemed to either have 2 polka dot V's or changed out his speed knobs, bridge and pickup mount rings from silver to black? Also in many Quiet Riot videos it appeared that he had 2 ivory Les Pauls

correct, I think it would be round Dec right before the Diary tour after the Blizzard. Peter M. told me once Randy actually owned quite a few guitars in his personal collection though not sure what kinds or how many.

I wonder if it had Something to do with Sharon cause she made him tape his concorde so maybe she had him change those to black as well

I think I hear an echo

just kidding..
Personally I think he changed the hardware just to match the black background of the V and make the dots stand out more. My theory is that the whole tape on the back of the guitar for the stage to hide the back from Sharon's idea I think is a made up story even coming from Kelle personally in my opinion. He taped those guitars up to protect it from the belt buckles and studs of the stage costumes. If you notice how much rash on the back of the les paul was done. He did it with both Jackson's and also his polka dot had tape on the back also. The les paul was his work horse and had already lots of wear so I bet he didn't care as much to put tape on it.

I know his live guitars:
- Gibson Les Paul 1974 (The Second One Was One Randy's Students Guitars I Believe. I Think That Was Discussed In A Thread A While Ago)
- Jackson Pinstripe V (Concorde)
- Karl Sandoval Polka-Dot Flying V (White and Black Knobs [Switched])
- Forgot the name of it, The Black Jackson without a trem bar. He only played for 2 months because it came in right before he died.
I'm sure the others can tell you anything you want to know about Randy's stuff.

Just out of curiosity, why do people put an 'e' on concord? Randy considered that for a production name because the shape reminded him of the concord airplane... that's concord with no 'e'... okay, I googled it and found it listed both ways.
If Randy only knew how
that plane's fate would end...

In the 1980 Ozzy UK tour programme Randy's PDV is referred to as a 'custom made flying arrow'. It is on the back page, it mentions all the gear the early line up used on stage.
This may of been Randy's name for the guitar and you can see the tell tale head stock which looks like an arrow point with a barb.

I wonder if the 'concord' plane was an inspiration for Randy to come up with that shape? Especially the shape of the headstock....
*The Ozzy band with Randy did fly with the concord once. If I remember correctly they flew with the concord back to the US after the Port Vale gig.

The Concorde was the inspiration. And it's concorde on Wikipedia. And that's how it's spelt on my Concorde tribute headstock....

the difference is that "Concord" without an E is pronounced as Konkerd - while the spelling with and E is pronounced KonKORD".

I do believe I've heard that if you put it at horizon level, the guitar I mean, it will have the Concords Wings shape. That's what I heard. I'm not sure if it's true. Also, I do believe Randy really liked planes, just didn't like heights.
