Ultimate Rhoads Twitter

Post by No1UNo »

Does Ultimate Rhoads maintain an active and updated Twitter account? I searched for one but couldn't find it.

Just a thought that putting 140 characters of RR info, trivia, and resources (video, audio) available at UR would definitely help in raising awareness of his stellar career. Particularly, on the anniversary of any of the concerts in the audio section, tweeting a bit about the show and including a link to the audio source (which would hopefully be working) would get more stuff out there for the casual and especially new fans. Other important dates that things in his life occurred on and new developments could also be sent out to a wider audience.

If this isn't happening now, we should make it happen in the near future. Target date? The upcoming anniversary of his birth.

There is a suggestion box on the Board Index page; and this is a great suggestion.

I like the idea, however I have no experience of Twitter.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

A great idea but if you want to know about Randy and do a search you'll find this site and TK no problem. The content would be repeated over at twitter and if its boots your looking for ....L@@K no further..

We could only put the real important topics on twitter and breaking news and such. for example when a new boot or footage gets discovered or new photos etc.

I do think it's a good idea. I've never got into the whole twitter thing, but it could be a really good way to identify new fans :)

Unfortunately updates would pretty few and far between for that account if it was only to include newly discovered material or photos. It's still a fairly cool idea though I think. The Randy Rhoads facebook account has some pretty good material however from time to time. Can't wait to see more of Ron Sobol's pictures!

There'd probably be a lot more updates than you think...remember, Randy did a few tours in America, the UK, and Europe so there's the anniversary dates of the tour itineraries (which we could link to any audio or video resources we have here of those particular shows), the recording, mixing, and release dates of albums, and other significant days in his personal and professional life...plus any new pictures, or other resources that come to light.

We'd probably all be surprised at the steady flow of content we could develop, and how many people or artists out there may mention Randy Rhoads in a Tweet or cite a story about him as an influence that way. I'd also bet that new information or resources would "turn up" with a RR presence on Twitter.

I think simply posting topic titles or a brief description would grab a lot of interest. I mean before most of us visited this site or tk etc. we knew relatively little about RR besides the obvious. For the true Randy fans out there a lot of seemingly irrelevant discussion would provide a heck of an insight into a character that has been kept out of the spotlight.

Just discussion on things like 'recording techniques in ridge farm', 'which strings did randy use', 'best song in QR' or 'Randy's classical influences' would be enough to tempt a fan to come and have a look. Inquisitive minds you know!

So it could be as simple as picking the most interesting topic each week and posting, er twitting, twating, twotting whatever the fuck
