I did some research and I found out the Live Portion of the CD is from a show in Indianapolis, IN on 6-4-1981. You just have to find out what Ozzy says before Believer.

Do you mean the real Indianapolis? Or the often mislabeled Indianapolis that was really Montreal?

I.e. this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stgUYXKNx-E

As for that link above, that is really Montreal, the intro with him speaking sounds like the DOAM Live Disc in places.

In the above he says "Come on people clap your hands now come on"

On the DOAM live disc he says "Come on clap them hands come on"

so that line is different.

then

In the above he says "you guys upstairs as well let's go"

On the DOAM live disc he says "you guys upstairs as well let's go"

And they sound pretty much identical......but they are said at different points in the intro.

It just seems like a bunch of the concert is cut from different parts. The intro to crazy train on the DOAM live disc sounds disjointed to me when he says "Let's go crazy on the crazy train!" "ok you guys upstairs lets go" "come on!" The middle sentence is a big drop in demeanor. Would love to know where this stuff is from for sure. I have to go home to see if I have a "real" Indianapolis, if that's what you're talking about, to hear the believer from there.

Some boots are very hard to i.d as the gigs had the same set and Ozzy was rehearsed to say the same things after every song. It's very rare he says Hello New York or Good Evening Newcastle ?. So its pure guess work and a process of elimination. Good luck with this one

Yeah, voice work is tough. It's gotta be based on the actual music.

What I do know is that Ozzy says the exact same thing he does on the Live Diary CD as he does on the Indianapolis boot.

Here is an idea. Ozzy took Montreal and Cleveland and edited out words during Ozzy's banter. Has anyone compared Ozzy's voice to the originals? Ya know you can do all that with digital stuff...

Many folks have said things to the effect that parts of the live disk seem out of joint. How about downloading the entire disk to Pro Tools as one file, then identifying background / crowd noise when audible or in between songs by sound frequencies and identifying where the sound floor is lower or higher. We know FHA is from Montreal, so just before and after the song should have a different sound floor than other songs.

The bottom line is your ears won't lie, but when you actually "see" the difference in sound frequencies you can zoom in on them and see if they are different and/or spliced. Yes, technology can hide quite a bit, but a pair of good ears and sharp eyes should be able to figure out what's from different shows and what's the same.

I actually used this trick on what I thought was a fake and fan constructed RR tape and lo and behold, it was the real deal. The tape and sound frequencies on there didn't lie.

'Ozzy Live' is definitely a hodge-podge of different shows.. Maybe within certain songs.. I dig that Randy is loud in the mix, but somehow Ozzy, Rudy and Tommy sound homogenized in the mix..

Also, the keyboard intro to "Mr. Crowley" on 'Ozzy Live': totally from the 1980 U.K. tour, with Bob and Lee. That extended intro played like that was exclusive to that tour..

I'm not That versed yet identifying which songs came from which shows..

So far, I can only spot "I Don't Know" from Providence, RI 8/7/91 and "Flying High Again" from Montreal 7/28/81..

I occasionally listen to 'Ozzy Live', but I find it a much better experience just checking out any of the bootlegs from the 'Blizzard' and 'Diary' tours. Ozzy's lyric flubs and all. Thank god for the internet. What a feast of live Blizzard Of Ozz to enjoy, in the era of file sharing..

One of The first bootleg live Ozzy/Randy things I Napster'ed was a version of "Over The Mountain", which wound up being from 11/9/81 Stadhalle.

Really, I used Napster for the live bootleg stuff. The fun to be had finding anything in a week you've been trying to find for 20 years lol.

So, you figure if Ozzy nicked Lindsay Bridgewwater's extended "Mr. Crowley" intro from the U.K. tour in 1980 and cut-and-pasted it to an '81 version of "Crowley" with Rudy and Tommy, then Ozzy certainly has choice quality live audio featuring Bob and Lee... Why we'll probably never hear it, only they know (Ozzy, Sharon, etc.) . I wish someone would leak the Southampton 1980 show.. That version of "Mr. Crowley" on the picture disc/live E.P. is, for lack of better word, enchanting..

Wow! So much work and research, if people would just be honest and forthcoming in their liner notes...

Are you just making this up? Paranoid from Cleveland sounds nothing like the Paranoid on the new live disc.... After listening to that one I didn't even bother looking at your other suggestions.
