Am I the only guy that always pays attention to this year??
I could see a license plate that says "M3R1982" and I'm like..."1982!"
I could be looking at an old time magazine, and I notice the year it was published was October, 1982.
I could be looking at old baseball cards, and BOOM, I see the year 1982 on it.
It doesn't matter what it is but 1982 always makes me think of..."was Randy alive stillm, or not."
Like something that came out in January 1982, I'm like.."did Randy know about this thing??"
Weird, huh? Kinda cheesy too. I can't let it go...

Also, like Return of the Jedi coming out in 1983, I'm always like..."what would have Randy thought??"
Or like, when they were making certain scenes of Return of the Jedi, what was Randy doing that day??

Does anyone know if Randy ever voted? If so, was he a Republican or Democrat? Probably the later, huh?

Sounds pretty sweet dude. I'm right there with ya!
Does anyone on here get tired of Randy? Sometimes I do. But I come right back a few weeks later. If something as simple as a receipt from a restaurant he once ate at surfaces, I'd be curious to know...

Personal preference I guess, but if you're finding yourself getting caught up in inane minutae like Randy's political stance and getting stuck on the year he passed, then maybe you've arrived at the point of having to take a break as opposed to asking yourself if you should.

I do the same thing with 1982.Like with date builds of guitars or like you said with mags or anything.I often check to see if it was built before march 82.

I have a friend out here who lives in the bay area, and he's the same way with the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
He once found a box of pasta noodles at a garage sale that had an expiration date of OCT89. So he bought it because it was like "hey this pasta went through the earthquake."
Cool, huh?!!!!!:))))

I do that every day, and on and off for the last 20 years. Why? I don't know it's weird, though that period in the early 80s was when I was growing up and I have very fond memories of it, was my fav time growing up, I connect Randy to that time...everything just was...cooler...and I've found a lot of people feel the same way about that period...good rock and roll was on the radio, people wore their hair long, jean jackets were in, people were much more laid back, arcades were around with all the classic games, tv was good to watch and didn't totally suck like it does today...movies were great....and Randy was part of that time and I almost feel when he died, that period started to die and the world started to become more uptight like it is today.

Yeah, no kidding - like say tomorrow you go to a gas station and get to talking with the clerk (who is also the owner) and you say " hey bud, how long have you owned this place." And he says "Oh, my friend. A very long time now, since 1980." You would immediately think of Blizzard of Ozz. Then when you leave you'd look at the building and wonder if there was ever a kid who went in there in 1980-82 and was wearing an Ozzy shirt, or maybe if the place ever had the radio on, and the first time Crazy Train played within those walls.
I dunno. I guess I'm crazy:))

Haha! Does anyone remember that William Shattner SNL at the Star Trek convention, and that one guy stands up, and is like "in that blah, blah, blah episode, what was the code to the safe?"
So, obviously the code was totally insignificant to anything in the episode, it just so happens he typed a code to open the safe. It wasn't important. The part after the safe opened WAS.
That's what I feel like we are like sometimes, and I love it. You can basically analyze anything to death in life, but we decide to pick the life, legacy, and mystery of Randy Rhoads as our meat! Dig in!
