RR solo from box

Post by distortionplus »

Wow the RR solo from the box set is great. I'm not a tin foil hat kind of guy normally. I don't have a copy of BATM handy, but the opening riff in the solo sounds to much like BATM to be coincidental. Really weird.

I have listened to the lost solo intro and BATM intro and they are way to similar to be coincidence. I don't understand why no one else has noticed this. Rhythmically they sound identical to me.

Okay, I just listened to it and it didn't remind me of Bark at the Moon so much as it sounded like the double-stop idea he used at the beginning of I Don't Know like he was noodling and it just came out...

Too bad BOTH were songs Jake brought with him from Mickey Ratt(later RATT)
BEFORE he teamed up with Ozzy

Going back again and listening I see the point being made about "IDK" which brings me to the conclusion that I don't know and must have a tin ear to go with my tin foil hat. :D

I think the Rhythm in the beginning sounds like something that could have influenced Jake.It sounds like the way he played. I know he was influenced by Randy, if nothing else it was part of the gig at the time, even though they wanted to do something different with Bark. ( Especially continuing with a new guitarist.) I know they wanted the sound of the album with Jake to be different but they wanted the guitar style to be close or in the ball park.

I never noticed they were similer but I have always wondered why Ozzy acted so surprised when he heard them, he must have idpped into his RR achive over the years to re-listen to his past.

Randy could play his ass off well before Ozzy knew of him, that's for sure. QR didn't put out a great product on vinyl, but live they would shine.
