Ozzy/Randy footage possibilities

Here's a shot in the dark(no pun intended), If Ozzy played the Houston Summit, Detroit's Cobo Hall, or the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland during the BOO or DOAM tours, there is more than likely some pro shot footage. After years of video collecting, i'm of the conclusion that these venues had in house video systems. Many bands(KISS, AC/DC, Parlament, Queen, Van Halen) have had pro shot boots surface through the years from these venues. I'm no expert on Ozzy/Randy tourdates, but thought i'd throw the idea out there.

I've heard about the house camera thing and seen it with other bands. I hope Randy with ozzy is one of them.

Both tours Randy was in Houston, it was at the Sam Houston Coliseum. The band did play Cobo on Feb 8, but sadly, Randy missed Largo by a week, as they were scheduled to play on the 24th.

Yeh but the footage could have easily been destroyed. Its been a long long time.

I would doubt there is anything left out there. The only way you'll ever see anything else is if someone uncovers something in a basement sitting around in a box somewhere thats been long forgotten. Even thats highly doubtful. But its possible (it recently happened with the 7th game of the 1960 World Series...a tape was found in Bing Crosby's wine cellar last year..and has since been released on DVD)

Is it not up to the band to say yes or no to the use of the inhouse cameras being used. I could imagine to the discretion of the management for Ozzy i.e $haron saying no as the footage could then be used without the permission of her. If it was done and then handed to the band free of charge ?. Well i couldn't see them doing that for free.

When the news first broke about live footage that's what I thought it was. Footage from one of those venues.

as far as it being up to the band, i'm not too sure if they had any say in the matter. those systems were used for closed circuit televisions in the box seating. i've got KISS footage dating back to 1976 from the Summit in houston and they released the concerts from detroit '76 and on. of course vcr's were just becoming available commercialy by then, so i'm sure the bands management asked for the tapes after the gig. that's where most of the TV advertisments for concerts came from back in the day. Does anyone remember any TV commercials for Ozzy's albums or concerts? I do know that most of the KISS concert and album commercials used footage from Detroit, Houston, and Largo begining in 1975. here's to wishing!

well said. The band's mgmt would have to approve. Thats what makes me think there's almost surely nothing left out there. The band would have been told about it. Rudy and the others have said repeatedly, that they are about 100% there was nothing filmed, unfortunately.

I think one thing that is safe to say is that Ozzy does not have anymore, at least pro quality. After finding out that the reels are only 3:20 seconds, it is pretty amazing Ozz released a video with every song missing part of it in an official release. I don't think they have anything else of this quality otherwise it would have been released in this set.

For Randy's 30th anniversary next year i think the documentary will finally be released, we will get the ET footage, and the only other thing really left of Randy footage out there that we know about is the two brothers footage, if that was sold off to Sony, there would be no better footage to include in a Randy documentary than one camera on him for an entire concert!

I've got a feeling they wont celabrate anything next year, randy or tribute, i hope they do something for us.

I think the reason the doc was shelved was so it didn't steal Ozzy's thunder. Now that the RR box has been released, I'll bet that the doc will follow... though not till after the Osbourne's have milked cow completely.

As for the "two brother's" footage, I sill think that is an old wives tale, even after seeing the stills that supposedly came from it.

This is just my observation, but it seems like alot of people in the RR community make stuff up just for the attention it gets them. I'll never figure that one out...
