Crazy Train: The high life and tragic death of Randy Rhoads

Post by James UK »

I haven't seen much written about it recently but this book by Joel McIver is still listed by Amazon as being released on 1st May.
It should help pass the time until the release of the box-set!!

I may have made a mistake. On the amazon uk website it lists the publisher date as 1st May 2011 however i've just noticed Joel McIver's post to this board as stating 7th June. Apologies! Please delete this thread if appropriate.

I don't know how much research Joel McIver did on his book on Randy. But if it is anything like his book on Metallica's Cliff Burton we should be in for a good book. In this interview here at the bottom of the list on the link. He does mention that he has went out of his way to interview people who have never been interviewed before. Including 2 of Randy's guitar students. He doesn't let much out about much else but if your interested the interview picks up at the 18 minutes left mark when he starts to talk about Randy etc. Enjoy

Hadn't heard of this but the Cliff Burton book was excellent and very much gave an insiders view of things.

Just started on the Cliff book. A nice portfolio of seldom seen pics of the man at the start, the rest of the book is all text. 263 pages, with a few appendices at the end. 8)

Sorry for the confusion gentlemen, the book is out in late May. Thanks for the interest, I think it turned out pretty well!

To clarify, Zakk wrote the foreword and Yngwie did the afterword. Just ask if you have any questions.

Best

Thanks Joel, very much appreciated!

Both Amazon and Chapters in Canada claim May 16. I've pre-ordered, and can't wait! It'll certainly be nice for helping us get through those last couple weeks of waiting for the boxset to be released!
