So Randy had Two different white concordes?

Can someone post pictures side by side of the original concorde randy had and then the new designed one he got?

It seems like Randy was never happy with the concorde, and hardly played the newly designed concorde before he died.

Am i not understanding this? I mean are they talking about the black V? or iis it two seperate white concordes?

I've always felt Randy liked the PDV best even though he played the gibson most of the time, because the pdv was really his personality, polka dots & bowties, like his quiet riot clothes, it just says Randy Rhoads.

From what I remember reading, he only received the black Jackson before his death. The others were still in production, or hadn't been shipped to him yet.

His favorite was the Gibson because it was bought FOR him by either his old band, or by the manager of a record studio (There are stories for both sides, I'm not 100% sure which it is) he liked the PDV, but claimed that it never stayed in tune.

I don't really know his feelings on the Concorde, but it's likely he didn't like it very much because of the fact that the neck sat so far into the body (I can't recall where the fretboard meets the body, but it makes playing high notes really hard, one reason he may not have liked it very much) another reason was because apparently people were thinking that he chopped up a Gibson flying V and made it into that (Which wasn't true)

There's also the fact that it was VERY heavy due to being made from solid maple. And I think I read somewhere that the neck was very thick too. (He may have wanted that, I don't know)

It think his Concorde was the best looking guitar out of the bunch, but he didn't seem to think so.

he def. was into the gibson style neck.

he only had 2 jackson. the white concorde and the black pcs..now rr series. there were 2 or 3 in progress for him before his death. one that had a floyd and the infamous namm rhoads.

i dont buy into much that the body shape on the 2nd jackson took all day to make. on my concorde project.. i blew up a straight on photo shot of the new relic and used a pickup ring, and knobs for reference. then i matched it up to my friends templete that is from a factory jackson rhoads. the upper wing is the same.. except the lower wing just has a little more cut out of it for the 2nd gen. now since he wanted the neck frets accssesed easier, it changes the position of the tremelo and pickups due to the scale of the guitar.

i will agree that his les paul was his favorite.

Well, his Sandoval was said to go out of tune many times, so he didn't like it much for that.

His Concorde was nice, but he said people were mistaking it for a Gibson, so he didn't like that.

His RR1 didn't have a tremolo bar, and had a Floyd Rose on it.

His Les Paul had to be his favorite. That was his main guitar for all the time he was around. It didn't go out of tune that badly, it was lighter than the other guitars, easy to practice with, and easy to use.

his white or black jackson didnt have a floyd. he never played live with a floyd. the black jackson pcs had a tune o matic bridge.

Could've sworn that I saw that the Jacksons had Floyds on them while I was reading a web page.

Jackson RR1's have a Floyd Rose on them. Randy's guitars never had one.

They were definitely around because EVH used one, and Brad Gillis used one a few months after Randy had passed, but Randy never seemed to be interested in using them.

I think part of it may have been because he didn't want to get glued to the tremolo. I could have sworn I remember reading something about Randy not wanting to "glue" himself to it. He didn't want to do what Brad Gillis did on SOTD.

Yeah Randy hated his pinstripe it was too heavy and hurt his back (Ronnie had to help him lift it) the neck was poorly set and positioned and the fret board was too wide making it way too hard for him to play. Thats why he rarely used it-you know like on theDOAM tour I mean like he only like opened the show and like made his grand opening appearance with it and fumbled through over the mountain solo with like no Floyd. Then like he had enough of it till like believer ,and flying high again ,you know the easy songs that required no notes high on the poorly set neck
Wow come on he designed the guitar and played the heck out of it.Am I the only member over 15 left  Just asking.

Dude Watchin Randy play the Concord during the intro to Believer on the NY Video
Gives me Chills,I Cant wait to be able to see that up close & Clear where you can see their Faces!,
Randy did say in the Seminar "There is no perfect tremlo unit except for a Floyd Rose"
But who Knows,he did AMAZING things w/the bar on PDV & the Concord!
Live Ive been listening to alot of diff boots lately & Randy Does ALOT of DIMEBAG style Divebombs throughout the sets, way more than I remembered or Thought!
Besides that IMHO NOBODY Touches Randy when it comes to Left hand Vibrato & Bending the neck on the Les Paul!!
But here is the "Story" of the 3rd JacksonImageImage

its just a shame floyds kill the sound of the guitar (imo).....a well set up strat style trem will hold tune perfectly well just ask jeff beck

I would say jake out does randy with the neck bending.....mainly because he did it a lot compared to randy

im guna agree with you about jake.... only cuz he made it a point to have a strat hardtail bridge on his main charvel. so he had to bend the neck...

you mean you don't believe the randy rhoads lost guitar story? so that guitar wasn't really made for Randy the one that sean cleg is pictured playing there?
