4. Did Delores Rhoads really let them measure and make blueprints from Randys PDV, and did this really occur during the filming of that Japanese Rhoads documentary?

6. How do these compare to Ormsby & Jackal in terms of being most accurate to the one Randy had?

the second gen of those were supposedly only sold in japan. they were notielable because they had the black tremelo and black knobs and hardware ssince randy changed them later on then the white hardware sandoval originally put on.

i saw one of the rr380s pop up on craigslist here in socal about 6 months or so ago. maybe longer, wouldnt be surprised if the guy was on here. cuz he had that guitar. the 92 ltd and the black pcs for sale. they wanted like 5k for it.


if u want a replica i would get the gmw version for about 2400 or a cheaper version on ebay for about 800 bucks someone is making.


id say the rr380 is probably the most accurate since they took measurements on it. even some of the sandovals made awhile back werent accurate.

if u really wanted to copy one, there are enuff photos to make a pattern off of. im making a concorde replica and going off photos. and its pretty exact in measurements.

so fernandes did make two different generations of these?

post some pictures of the progress of the concorde. will you be making any to sale? that'd be nice if you did, alot of people seem to make replicas of the pdv but not many seem to make the concorde.

i heard the fernandes also uses the danelectro set neck, instead of the neck thru gmw does, i think randys had the dan electro set neck.

didn't even know fernandes made a replica until this thread (although seeing the photo in the link rang some bells)......anyway here was one for sale earlier in the years....LOOK at what he was asking

the guitar is being made by my buddy. hes a custom guitar builder. im a custom painter/airbrusher by trade and that is going to be my part of the "tribute". its in the art section in this forum. just started working on it.

the price hes asking is what its worth. u should see how much sandoval wants for his. and the ferdanandes is wayyyyyy more a replica.

i would like to have one of those fernandes one day, but it would take me several months to save $5,500. maybe one day. it does look very accurate.

what are some japanese online stores & auction sites that I should keep tabs on where one of these may pop up in the future?

Doesn't matter who made it. A value is a value. How many of these have u seen for sale compared to Sandovals I've now seen two. I've seen ten or more sandovals

did he even make the body? or he just cut the wings off a aftermarket body?

The dots have yellowed just like on Randy's original PDV, hope the paint job is okay otherwise. Didn't Randy's paint peel off or something because of direct sunlight etc.?

now that i think about it... this was the guy selling it on craigslist in socal. his post is similiar to what was posted on there. he also had a 92 ltd jackson concorde and a black jackson pcs.
