****UPDATE*** TMD has learned that these still shots are NOT from the upcoming Ozzy DVD, instead these stills are from unreleased film footage owned by the Phoenix brothers, who have still not chosen to release front row footage they once shot to the public. When we were first sent the screen shots this information was not included. We have now been informed of this via a member of RandyRhoads.us. TMD is not in the business of deceit or trying to take credit for something that we don’t have right to. TMD is a news outlet… we report news, and sometimes when reporting a whole lot of news during the day, false facts can and will be involved. In terms of Randy Rhoads, there are a ton of people who think they own Randy Rhoads and his legacy. No, ALL the fans have right to their love for the guitarist and trying to discover the true facts in his life story. TMD is not any different. We are the ultimate metal fans, without a doubt… and simply try to put it all out there, any little story tidbit to an overall subject matter, like Rhoads… for good or bad, that’s called journalism… it – like mostly everything in this world – is not an exact science. TMD watches other metal news sites steadily rip off the others news stories (literally copy/paste text verbatim) to post on their site without giving the original news source credit. It happens to TMD all the time!! Yet, we are a site that operates outside of that… giving credit when it’s due…and try to deliver ‘new, fresh stories’… even if sometimes we ourselves get pie on our face. It’s the danger of being in the news business. Period! With respect to Randy Rhoads, TMD will NEVER stop its pursuit of promoting one of the greatest electric guitar players ever… and helping expose his music to a new generation and for the future generations after that. If Sharon and Ozzy had their way, nobody would ever celebrate and talk about Randy. Hell, Sharon and Ozzy didn’t even care enough to attend Randy’s 25th death anniversary in 2007… and they continuously have shamed Randy’s legacy in many other ways, like replacing the bass and drums on the first two Ozzy albums, over money. So before any of YOU try to point fingers at TMD for being some scandalous operation… who apparently is ONLY trying to get 15 minutes of fame…take a step back and realize we are only the ‘messenger’… why in the hell shoot us? We did phrase our headline with a question mark, didn’t we? So TMD never all out claimed these were authentic Ozzy DVD stills, did we? No, we did not! TMD will still continue its pursuit of the facts in Randy’s story from a historical perspective… and around the time of his birth and death date every year, TMD will pay tribute to his musical legacy any way we see fit!!!

you know i actually liked the response from md.. it just goes to show whoever is in charge of keeping randys legacy alive has been and keeps eating shit and digesting randys name and legacy...if the shoe fits for what i just said then keep on wearing it!!!no good is ever going to come out as long as this type of bs protection keeps going on....jmo!!

I'm surprised they issued a correction at all, but it still isn't much of a response: They spend a lot of time talking about how terrible the Osbournes are and how terrible other metal sites are. They hold themselves up as defenders of Randy's legacy while implying that his hardcore fans think they own him. If it's supposed to be an apology, it sure as hell doesn't read like one.

With regard to the insulting implication, I think it's safe to say that nobody here wants to keep Randy to themselves. That's a bullshit, straw-man argument. And, you know, while it's an admirable thing for TMD to want to turn people onto Randy's music, it's another thing entirely for them to repeatedly promote themselves as the discoverer of "rare" materials that were already widely available, and that they had no part in discovering. That's not called journalism -- it's called lying.

Can an artist claim a tape shot by someone else because they are on it? => Could the Rhoads family claim it? Ozzy?

what kind of bs tease is this? why bother? totally inappropriate..keep it to urself if ur gonna be a horder..i dont get this we know there is video of randy, we see zep, kiss and others in bootleg form. i wouldnt doubt someone will leak something, its just the bootleg companies dont seem to wana put up the big$$$$$$ to obtain these tapes like they do for the zep board tapes and videos. please respond..

I think I would rather KNOW something is out there and never see it, than spend my life wondering IF there is something out there, and still never seeing it.

I agree w/Cryptic because I always Knew there Had to be ome footage w/the 1000s of pics & nearly 200 shows,it only seems logical to film at least a show or two for prosperity,right??
So if those pics are indeed from the "Brothers" films (taken on a digital camera pointed on the wall they were projected on & have Zooms) then they are much greater Quality than I imagined!
