Randy Rhoads Wine?

Post by Cyranobob »

I thought this newspaper ad would be of general interest to all. Don't know anything about it, except that it was in the Burbank Leader yesterday (Aug 14, 2010). Not something you see everyday, that's for sure.

Though I wasn't there for the event, I was there in June. It's a very nice tasting room!

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the Marshall stacks in the video by the lifesize cutout of Randy. Does anyone know if they are the real deal? At first I was just thinking they might have been the RR Sig stuff, but the the cabs looked to have Altecs in them.

I don't believe they would put the real deal in there. What if wine were spilled on them? They were most likely the cabinets being sold. I could ask someone, but I highly doubt it.

The white Marshall is not Randy's, that's the new 1959RR. I think the others aren't real either.
I think they borrowed the stacks (and Randy figure) from the guys who made this clip: RR Studio Room

That would make sense. I thought they looked a little too "new".

So i'm guessing that the photo of Delores and the Osbournes was taking at another time. As i couldn't see any of them in the videos. Maybe this was at the opening plus Delores does look a few years younger under her shades.

Correct! In fact, it was a different day altogether because that is actually a picture already framed and on display at the winery. Cathy is wearing a completely different dress. The only way to make a guess on what day it might have been is to look at Ozzy's itinerary.

I have some important information about the wine if you purchased it and live in a hot state. Because of concerns with the wine going bad during shipping due to hot temperatures, the shipments are being held. If you want your bottles shipped, you must call the Santa Rosa tasting room and request an upgraded 2nd day air shipping. It costs about $20 additional cost than it normally would. I did it this way, so I didn't have to wait a long time for the temps to cool down. I will be there to accept it, so it doesn't sit in the outside heat. Heat will destroy wine. Also, because it was just bottled and it's being shipped, I have to let it sit for about a month or two, for the bottles to get over bottleshock. Drinking it before then would not give you the best and true flavor of the wine. Hope this info helps those who have ordered it and live in a hot climate or during summertime.

Cheers!

The price of the wine i wouldn't dare drink it, a bottle of RR wine is to be kept with the cork in. You may aswell of bought an empty bottle.

It's really not that unusual for a good bottle of wine to cost that much. The price isn't high because it's Randy. When I was in Napa Valley wine country recently, some of the prices were much higher than that. I will open an expensive bottle during a very special occasion. I don't buy expensive wines like that often ... wish I could.
