This has just been posted a Wolfgang's vault; a video concert release of Peter Frampton and Lynrd Skynrd at the Day on the Green 1977. Maybe sometime in the future they will release Randy's show. Show quality looks awesome! Here's the link

Yeah that'd be amazing. Has the Frampton footage just emerged or has it been around a while?
It seems hard to believe footage as good as this has just been discovered, if it has then there's always hope for some decent Blizzard footage to emerge, fingers crossed. As I was watching that footage I was just imagining Randy up there on the stage.
Oh by the way, what a lovely pair at about 1min 30sec.

There you go.....
The Skynyrd DOTG footage can also be found on youtube.
And on stage no camera's anywhere can be spot, but still filmed from a couple of angles. That somehow fascinates me. Of course in big stadium there are plenty of possibilities to shoot from distance from different angles without anybody noticing.

Pat i watched that 'Lynyrd Skynyrd' (<spell check that one) clip and the cameras are all over the stage. That looked like an awesome gig to be at, what a crowd. Their's guys on the stage with still cameras capturing the action aswell. The film is good enough to say this was definately pro shot. I know you like searching photos for the hiding camera guy's in photos etc. But you sometimes just have to wave the white flag in defeat. We have seen enough still shots from the Ozzy performance and we've heard it from the fans who went to the gig. If this was filmed it would of been done with a small hand held camera plus Ozzy was one of the first bands on the bill. I've seen other photos of Heart, Pat Travers and BOC and no sign of any cameras filming the show.
We've discussed this about the Port Vale HMH show as well and again i'm sure all that we'll ever see is that small clip from back stage with Randy & Motorhead. That would be one show well worth waiting for. I have looked on the crowd pics i have and i cannot see any film crews. But maybe that guy who managed to smuggle his camera into the gig is reading this and can prove us all wrong Eh!..

Shaun,
What footage did you see, this:

I don't see any camera people on stage.....
But they have to be there!

Pat it was the Peter Frampton clip i seen them on over at Wolfgangsvault you see a guy behind the piano on Framptons right stage side. 3:32 he comes past quickly again. But it's obvious that the multi cameras are there. It's just a shame non are seen during Ozzy's performence in 1981.

Well what about the New York Palladium show? I've never really heard that there were cameras there, yet we have footage (Amateur, yes, but I'm also referring to the footage for later this year that's supposed to be Palladium)
So, just because we can't SEE the cameras, doesn't mean there aren't there. One can dream... One can dream.

Good point for sure!
But I think we can say for sure that DOTG '81 and HMH (port vale) are not pro-filmed. Meaning no cams are in 'stage area' as one would expect. There are enough photos from all kind of directions to conclude that.
Still that doesn't mean nothing could be filmed somehow regarding these two shows, it could be still awesome, but it won't be really pro-shot.
btw that Brad Gilles '82 show, the 'Speak of the Devil' vid, pro-shot filmed, no cams to be seen at all. I really couldn't. But we probably could if it was in day light......

If you cannot see the cameras ? is that not an indication that they're not there ?. I'd love to be able to say yeah i'm talking out of my arse and i havn't a clue. But when i have done as much research as yourself and had nothing come back, apart from people who didn't go to the gigs or have any contact with anyone who went etc. Who come out with 'only if answers'. It was me who got Dave Tangye involved and did he not give you the info that came to light about a show which was filmed possibly 2 shows. I'm like any fan who wants to see rare footage come to light. But why go chasing for info in the hope that it may have been filmed. The band and the crew connected to the tour are they not the people who would know. If you remember the Black Sabbath video for the 1978 Hammersmith Odeon gig. That was released, but if it wasn't i would have proof in photos of the camera crew on stage filming the gig. Yeah the Ozzy show with Brad was mainly shot from a distance but i bet on the night Ozzy mentioned that it was being filmed. Or did he not know ? Come on stop burying your heads in the sand look for good reason to believe not just pure speculation.

Yeah but was this venue not known for having in house cameras and loads of film from other bands who played there. Which is a good indication that Ozzy footage could / does exist. So that would be a good indication and a good lead to chase up.

Okay, heres my Two Cents. Now in that day from the mid 70s - early 80s,VideoTape was becoming Much Much more Prevalant & Affordable. So even if thy didnt have "In-House Cameras",Mobile Video companys were probibaly fairly affordable (Escpecially w/Jet's Connections) & being this was OZZYs "BIG-American Debuet" they did a few show before, but This was New York City,a Hard Town Crowd to Win & they had Sold-Out & had to add a double set to acomidate the Audience demand!! (one of only Two or 3 2-sets).So it is Fair to Assume that they would want to Video-Tape this "Significant" Show/shows in his Eary solo career/US Debuet, that gig was booked while Bob & Lee were in the Band, the album wasnt even out in USA yet,(aside from Import) So I could see this being "Video taped for Prosperity" & judging by Rudys Book & Other known facts,Shron would probiblly REQUEST THE CAMERAS IN THE WINGS SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE W/OZZYS GIG
like how The amps on thhe Diary tour were hidden & Shit on the BOO tour You NEVER (mabey aside from DOTG,seea picture of Lindsy Bridgewater" & he was in the band ,so Id think shed want the cameras not Obstructing the "OZZY SHOW" Look at the Speak of the Devil show, you dont really see too many cameras,Theres 1000s of pics about 100 audio boots & under 45 min "other footage" There Has to be Greatness in store!!!

Haven't thought about that, but this maybe true!
btw: could you spot a camera in that SOTD vid? Have to admit I maybe watched it two or three times , so I didn't really try hard, but while watching I tried to pay attention a bit at times and didn't see anyone, usually it's not that hard to spot some cams on stage. Your 'theory' makes sense for sure.
