So long story short. My family is going on a spur-of-the-moment trip to LA in July for my niece's dance recital!! Not that anyone gives two craps about my relative's dancing

My wife already knows how much of a Randy freak I am (she got me the Randy Rhoads / Jackson commemerative interview for my 27th bday as well as the Mr. Crowley picture disc when I turned 25) We're only going to be there for 5 days, but she's already down with me going to Musonia and then heading over to Mount View by myself for part of one of the days. We're staying in Universal City, which appears to be about an hour away from Mount View.

Does anyone have any suggestions for visiting Musonia? I would love to stop by and just take it all in. I'm more of the silent/observing types, but would love to drop in and show the family/employees a drawing I made back when I was 16 in art class and share a story or too.

2010 is truly the year of Randy for me....we're flying out the day after my 35th birthday too (July 12), how cool is that?!?!?

I will be taking plenty of pics.

Hi dmnjr, As far as i am aware if you plan a visit to Musonia you should phone before you turn up. As i have read about people in the past turning up and people like Delores and Kelle have been busy in a lesson. So if you give them a ring and explain that you'd like to have a tour of Musonia i'm sure they'd welcome you and show you around. This is something i have always dreamed of doing but the distance and cost of getting there !!!. But i hope you have a great time and we all look forward to seeing your RR road trip / pilgrimage and photos etc.

Yes, good advice for anyone caring to visit Musonia ... the family would appreciate it very much if someone were to make an appointment. It took my wife and I a little while to do that, but it was well worth it. They appreciate it very much when people are respectful while there as well.

Just got back from Musonia recently! Just last week in fact. I took a trip to California and that was one of the special stops. We spoke to Kelle for a little over 2 1/2 hours. He was the most down to earth, most affable guy you could ever meet. He also has a great sense of humor.

I probably took around 50 photos. Kelle allowed me to take a photo with Randy's original guitar case that housed the cream Les Paul. It has Quiet Riot painted on the top using a stencil. When I opened it, I could see the string marks inside and it was well worn. He used it a great deal before putting the LP in a road case for the tours. I was just stunned by the whole experience. Kelle also played an original piece of his on the piano for me, as it had just been my birthday.

I was very surprised to see that he had the postcards I sent him of my Randy colored pencil drawing. He also had the CDs that I had designed for Lambchops. Lambchops, who is a member here, put some music bootlegs together for it. Even though Kelle doesn't go online, he said he expected to hear of my pictures being online. I will post some photos very soon here and on my blog.

I also stopped by the D'Argenzio wine tasting room, but Kathy was not there at the time. I did buy the Randy Rhoads Cabernet that is going to be released. It was an amazing trip. I'm still taking it all in. Too bad I wasn't there during the museum! Oh well, I'll have to make another trip for that. :)
