Just out of curiosity, why do you feel he deserves this?

It's a tough call Tito , I was looking at the list of names on that walk , they have all types of "questionable" names on there that I personally don't think they belong on there .. IE : Paula Abdul ??? .. The Village People ??? that's just two names of many . I would think Steve Vai would be on there before Randy and Steve's name is'nt listed .

damn i thought it was strictly for actors!!!i thought it would have been cool to see randys name alongside brando lee etc..but the village people!!!?my ignorance got the best of me, but i still think randys name on it would be a great thing!!!

Wasn't there a big push for this 20 years ago? I remember reading about it in Circus and Hit Parader

Look at "6780 Hollywood Blvd. " Who's star is there ? Ozzy ? yes, 2003. Randy's name along side of Oz would be the most ideal, since Randy is who brought back the OZ Man. It costs money, (O's money), and unless the O's think this would suit there need for more publicity and money, it will never happen. Tito, that Org. has tried several attempts with no success sadly. Maybe a "Sunset Boulevard Music Walk of Fame", is in order. Troubadour, StarWood, Whiskey ! I think that a grand idea !

A - The question for Tito was 'Why does Tito think Randy deserves this?' It didn't say I don't think he deserves it (though I don't).

B - I don't feel Ozzy deserves it.

The Hollywood walk should be for actors and film folks who contributed to the greatness of the industry. It should only include musicians who scored multiple successful films.

There's my final word on this. Sorry if I offended you, Tito, it was an honest question of your point of view. Nothing more.

I am pretty sure the way a person gets the star is by having their fan club buy it. No joke. I think that's how it's done.

I just got a message from the facebook page, it says:

"The application has been turned in for Randy Rhoads' Posthumous Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. The HWOF Committee will meet in about two week to vote on this years star approvals.
"

So I guess we'll see in the next few weeks wether or not we'll see Randy on the Walk Of Fame.

It's been quite a while since I posted here but my view is that Randy deserves a star for he is one and as far as I'm concerned,besides Jimi Hendrix,Randy is one of the most inflential musicians of all time,granted he may not be as well known as other's his influence is the real deal and what a legend is made of-Randy is a legend and this will be a banner year for him in his memory and frigging awesome if I say so myself.RANDY RULES!!
