Nice to hear some news on how the DVD Ozzy mentioned is going ^^
I do wonder if it will just be a box set of Randy Rhoads footage as well as some bonus material. In other words Rhoads' related and nothing else
I'm guessing this will be released some time during the winter or next year :P

So we will get some version of the BOO and DOAM rerecords along with the Randy stuff.

Sharon knows how to make a profit.

Im hoping that we at least get some cool Jake stuff too if it is a box set.

Hmmm...seems like someone is having some troubles selling the bastard versions of BOO & Doam, now that the whole world knows what was done to them.
I'll buy the box, (won't we all?), but I'd like to see if I can send the albums to Sony, not asking for my money back, but to let them know they're meaningless to the fans.
Th Prince of Darkness box was a complete missed opportunity. Discs 3 & 4 were essentially worthless. For that matter, so weren't 1 & 2, as they were the bullshit remasters.
Sharon is doing a shit job of preserving her husband's legacy. Most say she's got good business sense, and that used to be true, but the last ten years have seen more bad press than good.
Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!

+1

The possibilitys of GREATNESS are endless, unfortionatly for us DIE-HARD RANDY FANS,we'll probibably bet let down.....Again :?

When the 1st Box set came out,Man was I Excited at the potential possibilites of what we could be in store for.Ozzy is very well known as a "BEATARD" Huge BEATLES fan & I thought a Ozzy box may be NOTHING SHORT OF AWSOME,only to prove as NOTHING MORE THAN MEDIOCRE.I mean ANOTHER REPACKAGED GREATEST HITS PACKAGE (like the 3rd or 5th in 10 years) w/the rerecorded versions to boot.Nothing special, unless you count the 1 disc of covers that were all previously available & another disc of new covers that was again released on its own as another "New" product.THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY was, IMHO what a BOX SET should be.6 Discs From start to end,early/alternate takes & versions.Live recordings, demos, instrumentals ECT..ECT..ECT.. And it had Awsome Track by Track info in the Liner notes!Just Amazing cant stress that enough,
Just Amazing .
I know Im dreaming but,to RANDY & OZZYS Legacy, for the fans & his Career alike, something like that would Redeem ALOT of credibility.Suck it up & put some new mixes/alternate takes from those BOO & DOMM sessions w/Bob & Lee. EXAMPLE-BOB stated that there were different takes, they used the ones on the album because they were the ones w/the MAGIC.Like the few that had surfaced-
No Bone Movies w/o the BVs & porno samples
Steal Away demo-that is the same take, but mixed quite differently
And the stuff weve only heard of
Diary w/o the strings or Choir (Randy said to liked more)
Tonight & YCKRNR-W/extended jams that went mins after the fade-out on he records.
You looking...(original w/the COWBELL)

You Said it all & from the Mr.Crowley EP was supposedly the same show as Goodbye/No Bone from Tribute-I Dont Know (live) was this show too & they Rerecorded that for the 2002 DOMM,I wonder why they didnt rerecord You said it all? I bet there is a good take of You Lookin at me from that same gig. That would be cool to hear.
I wonder if anything exists from earlier in the sessions before Max Norman took over? that could be cool too.
Sharon & Ozzy PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,Suck it up & put it out.
Its not like they cant afford to give them the credit for their performances exclusively for the Box set alone!Leave the 2002 versions as-is on other comps & GHITS ,Just use different stuff on the BOX-SET as It would surely pick up sales, and the quality of a TRUE OZZY ANTHOLOGY,not just a Repackaged Greatest Hits collection for the 10th time.W/the sticker advertising NEW RR FOOTAGE just to have to payy 100 dollars for one song live on video & another stack of the SAME OZZY CDS weve already bought countless times w/the Dozens of repackaged re-remastered discs
I have the 1st releases on CD & the 95 reissues,& the 02 Rerecorded versions and they sound progessivly worse. To my ears they just keep mastering them HOTTER (LOUDER) and it distorts them more and more. You may have to turn up the 87 CDs a bit but they sound closer to the Records than the 95 ones and the 98 OZZMAN COMETH remasters.
I think I speak for Alot of us fans by saying, keep the album versions of all theese songs, weve bought them all before, often more than once!
WE WANT SOMETHING NEW ,Something Different.
Give the guys credit, youd better believe if Ozzy was owed Royalties to even 1/10th of the degree of Bob & Lee are, that $haron would see to it that he got them.

Very true DMRX,

The hard thing is that we KNOW a lot of great unreleased stuff exists from those BOO and DOM sessions, but that is no guarantee that we will get to hear it. It is absolutely a chance to pay Randy (and his fans) full respect by releasing that awesome material, but I'll just look forward to the DVD for now. That way I know I'll be happy with what I get.

The fact is whether or not we like it is thAt Randy is not known by all and the demand is not there for it. Ozzy cannot(well he could) just put out release after release of the same two albums worth of songs he recorded with Randy, not many would buy it. The bottom line is that Is If ozzy had ten pro shot shows of Randy only one would ever get released on DVD. Many thousands will buy that first release, but let's say a second or third show is ever released, it would probably sell less than 5k-10k copies at most.

The big "3" randy forums are very very very simple to find via any search engine but yet between all 3 of these boards we have what? 50 members out billions and billions of people on earth that post on them regulary. It's pretty sad actually and just not right. Randy deserves more than that but we must be realistic also.

True, but there are 1000s & 1000s of the general record buying public who are none the wiser about the rerecordings & they will buy an Ozzy product.
Shit Black Rain sold a million copys & I still havent heard most of it.Its just our small community of Die-Hard Randy fans ,Ozzy is still Ozzy & has proven he can put out shit & it will sell.

I was hoping this being the 30th anniv. of BOO that we might have seen a deluxe edition, with all of the bells and whistles.
A very, very small hope.
I don't understand law very much, but I wondered if Sharon were to do this, would she then have to pay the guys not only back loyalties, but reparations for all of the court costs?
As I've said many times before, for Sharon to restore those recordings, would be admitting she was wrong.
What we know of her, I don't see that happening anytime in the near future, though, she is obviously ignorant as to how much money she would stand to make, not to mention restoring the credibility of the Osbourne name in full.
Strangely she is admitting defeat in a way, as they need to use live Rhoads footage in order to sell further copies of those first two albums, as they no longer sell very well on their own.
From what I understand, it might be a box of BOO, Diary & the live DVD, is that correct?
The unfortunate situation concerning the documentary where only the re-done versions were made available shows quite plainly what her stance is.
My feeling is if we are ever to see extended/restored versions of both albums, it would be after Sharon and Ozzy had passed on, or were no longer in charge of their faculties, or Ozzy, Inc.
If anyone were to do it, it would be their son Jack.
By then it wouldn't matter at all, as the majority of the fans would be dead or dying.
I never bothered with the '02 edition of BATM. I would imagine Trujillo re-did Daisley's bass...does anyone know if Aldridge's drums got the same treatment by Bordin?
Lastly, if the story of what Peter and Co. encountered uppon arrival in Austrailia is true, I consider that very disappointing behavior from Daisley. I thought him better than that, as Peter was powerless concerning what music he could/ couldn't use for the film.
Bob should have left Dakota out of that fight, put it to the side and done the right thing for Randy.
The least he could have done was had the demands/ appearance fees worked out before the Dakota spent a lot of money and time traveling that far, instead of what sounds like an ambush on someone who had nothing to do with the fight Bob lost.
It would put him in an even worse light if Lee is in the film and he is not.
As the years pass, Bob has become more bitter, and rightly so, but I guess Lee Kerslake admitted on Sharon's tv bio that he and Bob fucked up way back when by trusting the Ardens & Jet, believing the band to be a truly equal thing. That it was his and Bob's own fault for not looking out for their own interests, not that it would mattered much if they had, as Don Arden had his methods of getting his way.

More in depth on my daisly point, he Did the interviews last year sometime, but did not find out until january or so that the originals would not be used. That is when he said he would not be allowing the I intervuews that were shot of him to be in the documentary.
