What would have been the next song added to the Diary tour?

I think if Randy had not passed they probably would have added another song onto the tour before it ended. IMO they were all tired of playing that same set list for 2yrs other than OTM...I think Randy was showing it in his playing, yes he was still playing great(well not as cleanly maybe), but he was throwing more fills in than needed it seems cause he was bored with the music most likely.

I think they would have replaced Goodbye to Romance with YCKRR for the remainder of the tour at some point.

Been listening to the Diary boots non stop for the last few weeks, man i cant believe they would have ozzy start of with OTM, at least give the guy a few songs to warm up his voice! He could barely sing it with his voice warmed up most likely anyway, this just made it all that harder for him!

interesting idea because that is the best alum Ozzy and Randy made, maybe SATO because they tried 'Diary of a madman and Ozzy kept fucking it up.
'Diary' live would have been amazing!

otm would have been hard on ozzy later between his jumping around etc..his voice was trashed i think cuz of the blow and booze..i think sato would have been a good opener though..2nd tonight with tommy accenting the intro with 2 sweet bangs on the gong!!!then downhill from that point due to ozzy not taking care of his voice.........

My choice would be tonigh also, but I would think it would have been yckrr since it was a single and a popular song. When was it released as a single anyway???

Besides the obviousness of Ozzy's vocals being an issue, i doubt they would have done Tonight or YCKRNR because of the changes in it (from heavy to clean, and so forth) and the fact that they are more complex than other songs (but i suppose the same could be said for Goodbye To Romance and Revelation Mother Earth)

While they aren't my favorite songs, i bet they would have played S.A.T.O. next or Little Dolls. Those songs are structurally better to play live (with the exception of Ozzy's vocals on Little Dolls during the chorus)

They never played Diary live because Ozzy had trouble with the time changes (honestly though, would you really have wanted to hear him murder such a beautiful song with his bad vocals??? lol) It would have been nice to see what Randy would have done with the song, but i just can't imagine them ever having played that song live because of its complexity and such.

My first guess would be You Can't Kill Rock And Roll, but I think Ozzy would have less of a battle pulling off Tonight. It would have been cool to see how the band sounded live on the theses songs especially with how they would cover them with Don on keys.

Rudy says in his book that it was Ozzy's own idea to put Over The Mountain first in the set, because Ozzy said he wanted to get it out of the way, and that he couldn't pull it off at the time later on.

I would love to hear a recording of the band when they worked up all the Diary songs while waiting for Ozzy to over come his problems after the shows in Germany. I know it was mentioned that they did this and you know they recorded at least one of the rehearsals on a tape deck to listen back. That would really be cool to hear. I guess I can dream anyway. :)

Ya I guess bob has all these recordings plus more, so basically there is a live version of each song somewhere, probably in the form of the suicide solution demo.

I can imagine people singing along in the audience to You Can't Kill Rock N' Roll!

Also the way he shouts out on the Tribute "okaaayy...you can't kill rock n roll!" makes it easy to imagine them doing this piece :)

I always thought that was an odd thing to shout when they never played it?
