With the documentary? Are they still being kept in the loop regarding what is going on and so forth? Its odd that even they have not seemed to have spoken a word about the film in months.

I have been wondering what the Family must be thinking? I agree that they have been silent for too long, a word from them would help top clear up any idea that the film and Peter himself have fallen out of favor with them. This prolonged silence seems to add weight to the rumour that things are not rosey anymore! It would be a great help to us long term RR fans to have some understanding of whats going on.

Yes that's odd, especially now the 'release' date is approaching.
I think a lot is going on behind the scenes though. If the Rhoads are indeed not happy with the film than I really wonder if it ever will be released? (small chance....)

After thinking about it the real only reason i could think of is there is something out there they want in the film but are having issues getting it.

I dont care what anyone says, the biggest selling point of this film will be what is included of Ozzy/Randy playing on video and Peter knows this. He can say he is doing for people to know Randy as a person which i dont doubt, but his job is to sell this film also.

I think there may be something out there very worthwhile they are trying to get and are maybe having trouble coming to terms with the owners.

My thoughts...Most likely pro-footage found of some show somewhere and some guy had it tucked in his closet for years.

#1. "Owner" wants compensation for it

#2. Ozzy wants it back for free since he should have the rights to it

#3. Guy wont give it up unless he gets compensated.

#4. Ozzy wants it for his documentary

#5. Arguing between the 3 parties endures for months as to how all three benefit from it.

I dont know,Peter had a decent budget which we know was dwindling as of last summer,but here are my thoughts for those who care,Now theese arnt in any kind if order & some ae purely based on the Facts & some just on my fantasy of new Randy footage but from here goes.

Keep in mind this is all Speculation & my own thoughts & ideas

1-Even though the Rhoads family have had reservations about this film for years,it was stated that Peter infact has the "Final say" in the final product as far as content.(as for use of Pics & Videos he has to get legal permission,hopefully the real recordings will be used but who knows w/Sharons Altering of & dis continuement of the Catalog.

2-If there was more Pro-shot stuff in the Osbournes possesion it would have been used in the Tribute video or on Dont Blame Me (theoretically)

3-isnt Jack Osbourne doing that Ozzy Doc???Im sure that they have the best resources & money
to locate any of that footage,but mabey they didnt really get too exaustive in their search as Peter was able to obtain the ET footage(which I can believe still exsisted and was preseved) So There is Hope

4-With the Osbournes being involved now ,and all the shit that happened to Kelly Garni &
his property,makes me wonder what is really going on there???
(one of my theorys is) Kelly had a copy of the "Trailer" met w/Romeo Rose & he either copied it
& leaked it & that was Peters Revenge,makes sense to me but doesnt explain why Peter
had Kellys Property that wasnt given rermission to use.This sounds more like an
ARDEN move/Tactic

5-Bob Daisely had said he didnt hear back for his approval for his interviews for the documentary
& w/Sharon involved Peters thinking could be Ozzy & Sharon in the Doc or Bob?????
a possible Ultimatum for use of Ozzy & Sharon & their resources, from a buiness standpoint he would have to go with Ozzy,but that would be SO detromental to the whole story that ,that would be a Lose Lose.
But wouldnt anyone interviewed be signed away during the filming ex-sign the waiver before or after the filming was finished??

6-We know that Kelli Rhoads confirmed that there is Footage of Ozzy & Randy that we havent seen that will be in the Documentary,as well as some old footage of Randy when he was young from some neighbors that were contacted.

7-If the ET "Over the mountain" solo was all the footage that was obtained for the film (worse case scenerio ,that is more than we could have dreamed in reality,I mean C'mon a pro-shot camera 5 feet in front of Randy playing the OTM solo on the Diary of a Madman Stage)
I find it Hard to believe that he would reveal it in the trailer,I'd think hed save it if its the "Gem"
of whatever footage he was able to obtain.

8-Now as for this "Pro-shot Blizzard show" where did that rumor (or Fact I hope) Start???
it seems to be mentioned & then dismissed over & over.
I recall reading somewhere that it was "Stolen from Don Arden's house" Now I
dont know where that info came from but it seems (well I want to believe) Probible
Don & Sharon had that falling out & Ozzy was Dons "Cash-Cow" at the time so I
want to believe he had something filmed & kept it in spite of the falling out.
and that could be why the Osbournes didnt have it before.

9-What happened exactly with Kevin DuBrow ,One of the Key parts of the story &
carrier of the Randy Rhoads torch refused to partake in the movie.Obviously he
saw/knew something about Peter that he didnt care for which is unheard of
being the way he Felt about Randy.Im sure its more than just "He saw it
as some guy who was making a movie about his dear friend for the wrong reasons
im sure it will all come out in the end


Theese are just some thougts about it,I really hope everything turns out alright
for all involved,Reguardless of the Bullshit & Drama I'll pay to see any movie about
Randy

I'm curious about this. Does anyone know who has had the final say on Randy related material being released over the years? Is it Mrs. Rhoads or Sharon, or both? If it is both then it could explain a lot about the delays.

This could be true. Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin both had entire concerts filmed in the 1-2 years after their first albums were released, back when nobody knew that they would eventually attain 'legend' status. The idea that Don Arden, a man regarded as very shrewd by anyone who knew him, would not even bother to have any filming done at all in the first 12 months of Ozzy's touring really seems to defy logic IMHO. Also, I think we can regard Dave Tangye as a credible source.

There has to be some footage (pro or not) from the first tour as well. (my opinion)

ya know akmost 200 Ozzy shows played & thousands of pics there has to be at least some shows songs filmed.I mean only a couple songs from 2 shows & a few rehersal songs ,Ozzy was Really gaining momentum like a 'Snowball" More publicity & word of mouth spreading by leaps & bounds like Wildfire
each dya.Randy was making his name Quickly too,all rhe shows were fillied in huge Hockey Arenas.

WHat i have been thinking about lately is there must be recordings off all the songs off of diary and blizzard played live before the albums were made. They obviously recorded all there songs they were coming up with and working on for the two albums. I knew Bob Daisley always said he had stuff, but i was always thinking live and on tour tapes. I think he meant he has tapes of the songs during the writing process before going into the studio.

This means we would pretty much have all the diary songs out there recorded some where in there early forms before they hit the recording studio.

I would love to here how randy did YCKRR live and Bob most likely has this.

The best thing that can happen is the Osbournes taking over the doc and getting green light to release some stuff that really matters to the fans.

It can be done quick: The 'St. Louis show' + an in dept interview with Pete Mertons about Randy Rhoads on tour.

yep, i totally agree dutchman, sorry but i could care less with interviews with people who didnt know him, i want to hear from people who jammed with him or friends, when the hell is this film going to be done and released? i really dont care about a interview with a horse or girl who might have seen the plane accident, WWWWHHHHOOOO cares. Lets have pete go in depth about randys gear, settings, practice, and whatever else.
