If anything, the film was to be submitted to Sundance this month, which in turn, would determine if it would go to theaters, or straight to video.
If that happenes, we would see it as soon as next Spring.
There has been no word as of late how things are coming, and I doubt much of any new info would surface after the events that transpired earlier this Summer. It seems Kelly either no longer wants to, or is unable to discuss the film's progress.
The community has little choice but to wait and see what happens.
I myself am not very optimistic, as there's been allusions of discontent between the family and Dakota.

If you look back through the General section, you'll find a 10 min. trailer was leaked to this site in the last week of June. After that we got a youtube video concerning said trailer, and alleged news of the possibility of one full Blizzard show and two partial Diary shows on video, that may or may not come out with the film.
I'd provide links, but this post would wind up quite long

The film won't be out 'til 2018, I keep trying to tell everyone that

Seriously, though, if it's going to have any sort of theatrical release, it won't likely be available for DVD release for another year after that.

Sundance takes place January 21-31, 2010, so if it makes it into that festival, we won't be seeing it until at least next Spring.

From the Sundance site:

Each year the Sundance Film Festival selects 200 films for exhibition from more than 9,000 submissions. More than 50,000 people attend screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah. In addition to discovering filmmaking's newest talent through the Festival's program of documentary, dramatic, and short films, Festivalgoers experience live music performances, panel discussions with leading filmmakers and industry figures, cutting-edge media installations, parties celebrating the Festival community, and more.

Check back in December 2009 for the Online Film Guide with descriptions and schedules of the 2010 program.

2018??? don't you think that's a little too early for this movie? it'll probably be out sometime in 2099 if we're lucky.. xD

Here is all the info on submissions to the Sundance Film Festival...this time period will be telling as to if we will see the film by April, when Peter's contract ends, or a few months thereafter. Submissions to the Sundance Film Festival are due between August 17-September 25. Once you submit a film to the Sundance Film Fest. you are prohibited to shop the film to any other festivals.

So as Paul Wolfe says in Dec 2009 we will be able to check to see if it is on the schedule as is explained above. If it is not on the schedule at that time then obviously that is bad news. That would mean it would at least be another year and a whole realm of possibilities. If you don't know what that means there are a lot of threads as Whoopiecat said you can read here at Ultimate and tk that will just make you more confused. Happy reading!

Peter has failed to make his agreed upon deadline. No wonder the Rhoads family is pissed @ him.

I would guess that Peter will try to get the film entered for sundance. He will still have 4 months to put the finishing touches on it before it goes somewhat public. Then he may have even more time to do final edits before distribution. If the Rhoads family deadline is true, then he will enter the film this month for the fest.

Given what has gone down over the summer I am betting that Peter will not update us until he has a finished product. He has pissed off a lot of people in and around the Rhoads family.

I am becoming more and more skeptical about any live footage coming out. Sounds like there is too much involved legally for us to get the dream package of the doc and live concert footage.

he hasn't failed to meet his deadline.. it's not until March of next year. If he doesn't submit the film to Sundance though, then i'm guessing he's going to have to just release it to the public and hope for the best.

I imagine that behind the scenes all sorts of things are being played out.
