So I am thinking about getting this CD.
Yes, of course, I already have Tribute on CD but I always felt that it was too quiet. I believe I have the first CD version of this CD, from 1987 or maybe a little later. Definitely not the the '95 version, with the purple border.
What are your thoughts on the 2002 version? Is it louder? Better mixing?

I'm curious if it is indeed improved quality over the '95 remaster. Obviously, they couldn't have Trujillo and Bordin go over the bass and drum parts, and I don't believe there was anything extra, correct?

I seriously wouldn't waste my money with the 2002 version.

Don't let the term "remastered" fool you into thinking it necessarily means "improved" from the original.

In this case, it definitely isn't.

This was simply another "Sharon" idea to cash in on people's tendency to think they're getting something better when they see the term "digitally remastered." This is no different than the "throwing in a extra track" trick is to get collectors to feel they need to add it to their collection so that it's complete.
