New video of Randy

Post by Paul Wolfe »

For those who haven't seen them... Randy and Quiet Riot in the studio and at the Chili Cookoff. These have been around for a while but just showed up on YouTube.

It's his real V. Its from the Japanese documentary. He changed the knobs and the V at least once as well as the pickup rings.
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast.

anyway the coloring is wrong, his knobs are white and the tggle switch is also.
He changed knobs to black after about a year... that's from a documentary and has been discussed in depth in the past. The V had extensive paint damage from sunlight at the Hard Rock Cafe where it was on display.

Cool stuff, Paul. 8)

That first song is sooo... Not my cup of tea! By Randy's talent is evident, as always.

The solo from the Chili Cookoff's reminds me a little bit of the solo in Whole Lotta Love.

Janet said in her opinion everyone went to hear the music because of the guitar playing and not Quiet Riot's music.

Yup, I probably think that's the case. Randy was the only good thing about QR.

I think with Randy the chemistry wasn't really there, when Randy was gone QR became a much better band..... (imo)
I think a lot has to do with the change of the drummer afterwards btw. One can have the best musicians in the world together in one band but if the chemistry isn't there it won't work.

I just think the songs sucked. Randy had great chops as a guitarist and lots of presence, but those songs were just terrible.

I have never seen this footage :|.

I didn't really like the songs that much, but the sound quality wasn't great at all. Howcome this hasn't been available sooner?

Actually 'sucked' is exactly how Janet described the music/songs to a room full of 12-18 year olds.

But who cares he cut is teeth with those guys 8)

I remember Mrs. Rhoads also telling Randy that the songs weren't good enough.

How many bands are brilliant right off the bat? Enjoy it for what it is. It's public comments like "It sucked" that keep us all from getting more stuff. I'm sure there is more stuff but because the people who have it, either think they sucked, or the sound sucked, or the energy sucked, that stuff will sit on a shelf, even though a good portion of us DON"T CARE that it is not brilliant or top quality sound/performances! It's Randy Rhoads for God's sakes
