1980 Postcard last date of the tour

Post by GUITARIDOL5682 »

A very rare postcard wrote by Randy on the day before the last gig of the 1980 UK tour (postmark 1st Nov 1980). The postcard is from the hotel where the band stayed, the Eardley hotel in Worthing. This was about 11 miles away West from the Brighton Dome this was the venue they played on their 2nd last gig of the UK tour. The hotel has since been demolished back in 2010 it was on the sea front at Worthing. Randy mentions a few things of interest including Ozzy's antics on stage during the Brighton gig and how much he is looking forward to going home. A little piece of Randy's life during his time in the UK Enjoy..

Very cool post.........thankyou!! Interesting to note how he opted out of flying back on the Concorde to save some money for a new tape-deck. There is a photo in the "coffee table" book of Randy flying on the Concorde, sitting beside some sweet elderly lady. At least he was able to enjoy a few well deserved "perks" during his short time here on Mother Earth. Cheers :)

I don't think that photo is on concorde. It's one of Rudys photos out of his book.

He has wrote much more and some of the info is eye opening. I have seen about a dozen postcards in total. They'd make a great book but it's like anyone who listens at key holes they never hear any good. So it has to remain private. It's a diary from Randy basically.

Thank you for posting, it seems surreal to be reading post cards like this from way back in the day. Just shows the unstoppable march of time, Randy's gone even the buildings gone...

I wish I could show you more of them but I have to keep them private because of the info and who is being mentioned. This one doesn't reveal too much but it's a nice piece from his own hand.
