New Max Norman interview about Blizzard recording sessions..

Post by Shockwave »

Some interesting stuff I never knew. Especially that Ozzy would only sing and record one line at a time, then double it. Once that was finished he moved onto the next line and so on..

That's an excellent interview. Was Max even paid for the work on that first record?

Indeed!? Was Max ever paid? Or only fired at some point afterwards, how many years later that was...?

He said he listened to those “mold” tracks a few years after the recordings with Ozzy. So I imagine he is referring to Ozzy’s isolated vocal tracks in that instance. Since he worked on the Tribute album I would guess that is when this occurred. I don’t think Max did anything with Ozzy after the tribute album?

I remember hearing this a while back and thinking how odd that is, and how much time it would take. Then I heard the vocals on Back in Black were recorded basically the same way. I then made the mistake of listening to interviews of recording producers and engineers and there stories about some of the artists I like.

Smoke and mirrors.
