When did RR get his Black LP ??
I noticed a photo over at RRTK of Randy with his black LP or one like it.He is sitting in a bar i think this may be the bar next to Ridge farm.He is holding the guitar,i'm sure that i read an article that Randy was buying old vintage guitars from porn shops but i'm sure this was in late 81-82..

my trusted and reliable source comes through again:
"The black Les Paul that GuitarIdol is referring to as having seen Randy with in a bar is from 1980, as the original band with Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley are in the pic. This is not thought to be the same Black Beauty that Randy posed with in his last photo session (that you provided shots from) with John Livzey. The consensus is that the guitar in the bar shot is one that belonged to guitarist John Thomas, whose band Budgie opened up for Ozzy on the very first Blizzard tour of the UK. He played a black Les Paul also. Randy and John (JT) became very good friends during that time period and John let Randy play a lot of his guitars in their off-time. So, that's what has been pieced together on that.
As for Randys black Les Paul, Kevin said Randy picked that up in the last few months to a year of his life at a pawn shop. It could POSSIBLY have been picked up in England during the recording of Diary in early '81, but it didn't seem to look exactly the same as the one in the bar and no shots of it appeared till that last photo session, though it was mentioned in a November issue of Circus. Kevin said Randy also picked up a 3 pickup white SG because he loved Glen Buxton (Alice Cooper guitarist) so much. No photos of this guitar have been seen yet."

Cheers for that Kevin and Frank
I remember the photos of John Thomas in the Ozzy Osbourne Rockdetector Garry Sharpe Young book he is jamming with Randy using either a Gretsch or Gibson semi acoustic with 'f' holes. His love for guitars was the same as RR and JT toured with his band Budgie for the whole of the 1980 UK tour. Thanks again Kevin & Frank
