Any of you guys see the teaser photo on Facebook? It was of a photo of the headstock of the black Jackson. The book is volume two of "108 Rock Stars Guitars"

I am not sure if she is photographing all of them or just th black Jackson, sounds like possibly all though.

On my phone now otherwise I would post the photo

You can it is by the picture of the headstock, the writing I the black Jackson was slightly different than the white. You can also see half the first feet and there is no block inlay as on the white jackson, you can't see the sharkfin but it's right on the edge.

Here's it is, someone else asked if she got to meet Mrs Rhoads while shooting the guitars and she said no, it was after she had passed away.

Neat and maybe we'll see some other new stuff by the time the book comes out.

Nice, never compared pictures but I was thinking about the truss rod cover as well. I'll ask her about it this weekend.

The Andrew Klein book had some rather good photos of Randy's guitars I thought.

Whatever it is it was made in 1982 and given to Mrs.Rhoads.

Just an update. I just received a reply from her to my follow up question back in March asking what guitar it actually was.

She said that my guess was correct that it is the first production run RR guitar and was given to Mrs.Rhoads. It was never played by Randy.

I suspected as much.

The black V was a one of a kind at that time. Why would it have "made in USA" on the headstock?
(note that the headstock on the other pics does NOT have "made in USA" under "Jackson")

When I asked Delores about Randy's guitars the first time I met her, she said that they have them in safe storage somewhere. They had several break ins at Musonia and they were concerned about the guitars.

She did dig out a guitar out of a cabinet and showed it to us. She said it was Randy's first electric. I need to look back, but if my memory serves me right, it was a red ovation...

You are talking about the Harmony Rocket. Its a 1966 model.
