Randy's close friend John Thomas died last night.

I've just heard the sad news that the ex-Budgie guitarist John Thomas has passed away last night. As RR fans we know the connection and friendship they made when out on the road together touring in 1980. RIP J.T

Sad news about big John, a very talented yet underrated guitarist. Had the pleasure of seeing Budgie supporting Blizzard of Ozz in 1980, also saw them supporting Ozzy on his 1982 UK tour. Also seen them a couple of times headlining over the years. I can still remember when i first heard about Randy's death on the Friday Rock Show, and Tommy Vance played Budgie's Superstar in a tribute to Randy.
