I also predict a lot more folks will be picking up this book in the near future. After all the contentiousness and what some folks thought they would get instead of the great book they got, it's nice to finally see a Randy related item that people are happy about. It's about time!

From what I read everyone seems very positive about this book.. Great :)
The book is 7.8 pounds. I think I posted in another thread the weight converted to kilograms. It's measurements are 9" inches x 13.75" inches. It's a heavy book and a solid hard cover with great binding. The Kisstory book's binding was shit on my copy anyway.

They have some clear restrictions about that in the book. It always has to say that and it does say "without permission". Maybe you could ask them first and say it is just to show some samples. They may Okay it.
That is exactly what I meant in my post. I would assume that the publishers would be keeping an eye out on the RR sites looking out for any copyright infringements so that they can follow them up & maybe cause trouble with the site owners? I know that there were problems with the KISS sites when pictures from the Lydia Criss book were uploaded. That is why I suggested to post in a spoiler thread so people on the fence can make up their minds if they want to buy the book or not.
You mean as opposed to THEIR OWN possible copyright infringements, using some photos they DID NOT have permission to use, or properly credit?

I wouldn't be surprised if the book has used material from UR & TK. Are the pages showing any signs of tour memorabilia i.e tour posters, promo press packs photos, tickets from gigs etc ?. As it would be hard to prove if they used photos of items posted on here or TK.

RRP, did this end up being the case with you? Did they use some of your stuff without permission? I sure hope not.

All I can say is the book is amazing, I just got mine today. I've looked at all the photos and will start reading it after work tomorrow. I am very happy with this.

I found this on youtube it is a new radio interview with Andrew Klein. Check out that photo of him with Randy's back line.

No, but there was a terribly scanned one of mine in "the doc trailer - which was denied to be a trailer."

I told Andrew Klein where he could stick his Dakota Films release form.

None of mine appear in "the book."

Silver Rhoads checked it out for me (the book), since he has a copy.

I'm IN one of the photos (the B&W DOTG taken from in back of Randy) if it was a high enough resolution copy - but none of mine were used (thankfully).

I'd LOVE to get an original high resolution negative scan of that one, just to find me EXACTLY. I can probably guess within about 3 heads, or so, where I was.

Right about here:

Regardless though I would have considered it an honor to be in a book this special. The photographer that snapped the Tribute photo said that many photographers give their shots to magazines for free in order to get more work. This book is so much better than any magazine.

I received my book today!! Man, I am totally blown away by the amount of candid pictures that I could never imagined seeing. No matter your opinion on the whole ongoing Rhoads drama that us fans have been enduring for all these years this book is done in a respectable & professional manner. You will never be able to get everyone involved with Randy's life to contribute to one book for whatever personal reasons. The Osbourne's have & will present their own version of history. Bob has had his issues with all parties & we will hopefully have his stories soon as well as kelly Garni's & Ron Sobol?

I finally have something nice to keep besides the music & magazine collection...
If anyone attends the Book Soup signing September 8th please ask the question... Will the Randy documentary ever be released or is it shelved forever?

Yeah it is, i think Dave is referring to the shot, as he is in the crowd. He's not putting any claim to the photo. The story i heard about this photo is that Randy has just split the ass out of his trousers. Ross has tried to get a photo of this and Randy is backing off laughing. If you notice the trousers he has on have a slim red piping down the sides of both legs. He manages to get off stage to change them to all black trousers. I don't know if this was during the encore as nobody noticed this happening apart from Ross and Randy.

+1, alborg. I wish they would just release the doc through their website, and sell the DVD through there. Don't worry about theatrically releasing the thing, JUST GET IT OUT THERE! I mean, as wonderful as it would be to have it at film festivals and all that, it just needs to see the light of day in some form, period. I don't understand why everything RR related has to be so difficult.

Which makes this book so much more of a treat - an actual RR related item that got released!
