Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
The Van Halen situation is and odd one. There's really only two other people they'd have to split earnings with, (seriously, no one wants Sammy-era stuff from the vaults, do they?), but if they were to open the vaults and release some of the Zero/ Warner demo stuff, and the entire Oakland '81 gig on DVD, they would rake in silly, silly cash.
There's no way they only filmed three songs over two nights. You're already paying a crew to be there and roll cameras...it really cost that much more to film the shows in their entirety.
Here's a band who is about to let the 30th anniversary pass on their fourth consecutive album. Talk about missed opportunities, but then the Van Halen brothers are a different kind of crazy...

Mrs. Rhoads.....there, I said it.I think it's somebody else...
That's not an insult. She might have her reasons...who am I to judge, Randy was her son. I'm just some faceless fan out in Random City, USA. It's okay to question why his legacy has been handled horribly, but never in a million years would I insult her or her reasoning behind it.

Were you around back then (as in attending concerts)? I have no idea how old you are.whoopiecat wrote:There's no way they only filmed three songs over two nights. You're already paying a crew to be there and roll cameras...it really cost that much more to film the shows in their entirety.
It's not outside the realm of possibility, at all, that they only filmed the 3 songs.
Especially with Van Halen's management, at the time.

Question is...did they post the items online and then pull them on purpose or on accident?

I was at Musonia 3 weeks age and like I previously posted Kelle was not aware of any footage being released -doc included. It's my understanding the reason we have seen the release of the jackson ,les paul and marshall is because Kelle and Kathy are having alot more say in what gets released. I thanked him for all of the releases and expressed how much US the fans would cherish ANY new releases(oics of the guitars/straps-chip pan-clothes-music ,video) he just gave me the look and"wink" and said I know what the fans want. Honestly after being there I believe the family if proud of RR and especially proud of how he has been a positive influence on so many but...I don't see them spending every waking moment trying to promote RR. I see it more of a mutual respect or "duty" to the fans who respect and appreciate RR . If there is anything to be released I believe Kelle will be the driving force. He has opened up the vault alot for us in the last few years and I don't think he will keep things locked up when it's decision to make. Until then I don't expect anything-BOO box set included-I specifically asked about it and the family was just at a Ozzy show the week before I was there so they spoke to the O's and there was no news there about new songs or footage. Bob Daisley is the only hope for new material.

I suppose there might be a tiny chance that he was keeping any news quiet??? lets face it know one new about the marshall coming out or the jackson or the les paul until the "official" announcementsJAY wrote:I was at Musonia 3 weeks age and like I previously posted Kelle was not aware of any footage being released -doc included. Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
Right, Because the Ozzy camp & Rhoads Family care about Randy's legacy. They have put out full length DVD concerts of Randy and live recordings on cd throughout the years to remember the talents and celebrate the life of Randy Rhoads. OH WAIT, NO THEY HAVEN'T. Maybe you should have to buy a bottle of wine with it or with the purchase of a $13,000 guitar you get a Live Randy song. Why isn't After hours released? I say watch the bootleg, buy the bootleg because it has yielded way better than anything released. If this comes out, I'll buy it. If not there's always the black market. Do people have to die before this gets released?

Han', itr really pisses me off that the legacy us true fans wish for is kept from us! after all he is only still known because we keep his legend alive.

So that '81 footage mentioned earlier suddenly vanished????JAY wrote:I specifically asked about it and the family was just at a Ozzy show the week before I was there so they spoke to the O's and there was no news there about new songs or footage. Bob Daisley is the only hope for new material.

btw. I think Mrs Rhoads still has the final say in Randy things to be released. Especially when it comes to things that really concerns Randy himself like footage and recordings. (the things that really matter to the 'couple' RR fans that are left....) That signature amp, guitars etc. aren't imo.

I've been meaning to share this here. A nice video tour of Musonia with Kelle, and a sit down interview as well. Both are a half hour each.
It sounds as though Dee no longer can go to the school. Kelle also has his say concerning the doc.
The walkthrough is the top segment, the interview is the bottom. Lots of neat historical info, may also answer some questions as well. No mention whatsoever concerning audio/video, but that question was never posed, either.
