But it Does seem that the 30 Years of Blizzard Documentary is going to have Ozzy in the Studio Playing the Master Multi Track Tapes!! Like Classic albums!!!
I really want to hear the Tubular Bells soloed on Revelation, cant wait for the 7 minute extended mix!!

I just hope the New Mixes are done Right & not Mastered Too Hot like the 2002 remasters, although those are rerecorded, the Bark remix wasnt rerecorded & I just dont get how those two guys (the Production team) even have a job, with Ozzy of all people....its like they are Deaf!! At least Tone Deaf! They are Terrible Mixes & mastered WAY,Way,WAY Too Hot. The Beatles Re-Mix/Remasters from 2009 Are BLOODY BRILLIANT Crystal Clear & Mastered Very Nice & Proper,Not Too Hot like the Ozzy ones I still prefer the 87 Cds to the 95's Didgital is Awful when clipped just look up Loudness war on Wikipedia if you dont know/understand what I mean

What would have been a finishing touch would to have had max norman back to remix the album, that would really fit the 30 year theme.
I happy to have anything though. bring it on.

guys just because theirs one DVD does not mean that their is only a documentary on it. It could include many other exciting stuff. I mean they will probably include after hours ( better quality ) and obviously the POSSIBLE new footage as extras. I cannot imagine them including it while people talk over it because that misses the point.

Echoing DMRX,

I sincerely hope they master it properly and not smash the life out of the recordings, or at lease the vinyl versions. Because IMHO, the original vinyl just needs 1-2 dB more loudness and some minor tweaking of the stereo image (easily done) to sound amazing. But they seem to forget that IT WAS NOT RECORDED WITH THE INTENT OF BEING RELEASED ONTO CD, BUT LP, so the dynamic range/frequency response constraints are worlds apart.

I'm done with my rant,

I hope they sound great.

D,
The original version of Tonight is 5:50 in length, where the long version is 6:09. It's only 19 seconds more, though we all wish it was a full minute!
Can't say I'm too jazzed about the new mix of the title track, as it cuts 6 minutes from the original? (6:08, compared to 6:14).
Do you suppose Ozzy will try to release the guitar/vocal of GTR as a single? If so, nice way to skirt those performance royalties.
Quibbling aside, what is coming is more than we have now, and the important thing, as always, is the albums are being restored to their original (and correct) versions.
Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!

Yeah it doesn't seem very long i'm sure the faded out part must be raised in volume on this new version. I'm sure many of us have had that quiet solo cranked up to the max to hear it better. 19 seconds is better then nothing i suppose. They did mention a separate RR guitar solo which may be this one. As Max Norman said it went on for a couple of minutes.

I coudln't agree with you more. I've been hoping for the longest time that major labels would wake up, especially when it came time to do this set. Louder is not better when it's digital. Remember the label on the 2002 remasters? "Bigger, Badder, Louder!". Should have read "Louder, Harsher, Less Dymanic! Warning: May cause auditory fatigue." Compare Tribute 87, to 95 to '02. '02...ouch! No EQ fix can remedy it.

Anyway, I dearly hope these discs are not brickwalled.

Hope You Said it All is on there too! I would imagine so, otherwise we'd probably see it as a bonus track elsewhere in the set.

Happy to see the 4:15 length of YLAMLAY....likely to be the 7" mix (which is exactly 4:15 at the proper turntable speed), not the shorter Japan remix.

What if YCKRNR and Tonight long versions aren't faded? That would be cool. It would contradict what Max said, However, I'm not too sure about Max's memory of things. He had said this about the tapes used for Tribute: "They said look, we have 2 different shows, which one should we use?...They told me one was King Biscuit and one was Cleveland. I finally realized that the shows were the same show with radically different mixes." WHAT??? I would have thought he meant "show" as the same track list. But the way he put it, it sounded like he thought the tapes were very different mixes of the same concert. Strange. Max still rules. He did such a great job on BOO and DOAM. I wish albums were still recorded and mixed like that today. They sound real.

Anyway, I can't wait for this box to come out!

So in other words.....there's still not (or probably ever going to be...) a live DVD. If there was, there'd be a big deal made out of it. "making of" documentaries notoriously suck and have interviews w/old producers, etc.

Look at it this way...why has Ozzy not released one true collection of promo videos from BATM to present day?
Or the Irvine Meadows show w/ Brad? The Salt Lake show with Jake? Or the Ultimate Ozzy show w/ Jake?
Discounting the promo vids, that is eight people in the live performances and Tommy, Don and Jake each appear twice. That's only for likenesses, I'm not sure if you have to pay out publishing for live shows, anyone?
I guess the biggest and easiest example would be After Hours. I am guessing the Osbournes own it. Why, after all these years has it never had an official release? Delores? Daisley & Kerslake? Sarzo & Aldridge?
Ozzy sounds fine, so it can't have to do with his performance.
It's so weird to have primo video of Randy and not to be able to use it. If the only reason is because they refuse to pay whomever for whatever, then that's just fuckin' stupid.
It's just dumb that that footage has been around and known about since forever, and here we all are watching shitty, grainy nth-generation on youtube or DVD-R we got from a buddy, or ebay. Some of us knuckleheads even go back to VHS
All we are left with for official stuff is the Zakk era. Don't Blame Me, Live n Loud & Budokan.
I don't hold out hope for any footage. We all know it exists now, between bootleggers and Mr. Tangye, Ozzy, Sharon & Zakk all confirming pro shot that isn't AH, but for some reason or another, it won't be released. Maybe that will all change, but don't bet all of your chips on it.

I'm gonna stay positive. I'm going with what Sharon confirmed on the interview...we WILL get the footage. We just might have to buy all 8 combination of releases to be able to see it all.

I agree I mean something is definitely coming out in may and I believe we will know exactly what is going to be in the boxset by then ( some sort of promo release ). Its only two months away, Im so stoked. If we dont get the randy footage their would obviously have been some legal issue about it. If we do but its not as long or as good as we hoped then so be it. I think our answers since january 2010 when we heard about this footage will be answered.

I don't think we'll ever see any type of so-called "footage" either...anyone thinking they are (although i understand the prayer and hopes) are setting themselves up for major disappointment.

On another note speaking of Ozzy video releases...its pretty amazing considering his very lengthy solo career with a godzillion tours behind him has such little DVD video footage released. You had "the ultimate Ozzy" VHS which was never officially released on DVD, that Irving Meadows show that floats around with Brad thats never been released officially, the '84 Bark at tht Moon Salt Lake City show that was never released, that "don't Blame Me", which although was released, it still came from the VHS tape days, then there's that HORRENDOUS representation of Ozzfest that was released, and the "Live at Budokan" DVD w/Zakk that WAS released but it was a very bare bones show, not really representative of the Ozzy solo shows. There's been virtually nothing released from the more modern era, which in itself is surprising. Another group that comes to mind from the Ozzy era that hasn't been represented well is Van Halen (i pity their fans...their releases have been worse and more sparse than Ozzy's). You would think there would be a big wide DVD selection of Ozzy available. But there's not.

True, fans are dying for 1978/1979 VH footage. Ed says 'there is no footage'. But they were filming VH gigs night after night even then.... confirmed by crew members and even DLR himself.

As long Bob & Lee are not playing in the footage itself they can't be the problem. Hence vids with Zakk playing the 'blizzard' songs could be released as well. So I don't think Bob & Lee are the reason why the won't release that 'palladium' footage mentioned earlier. I think it's somebody else.....
