Dude, what kind of post is that? You'd put your life on the line for music that is readily available anywhere?Rhoads10 wrote:I don't have any albums i download

Hi Gaz,Fozzy41 wrote: I'm sure it was taken at Clearwell Castle, Gloucesteshire.
What makes you think that the photo was taken at Clearwell castle Gloucesteshire.? I looked at the photo of the Tower of London and it looks so like the picture, the trees and the battlements etc.i'll ask Bob Daisley but don't hold your breathe waiting for a reply.
I went onto Bob Daisley's website, clicked on media, then onto Bobs Photo Gallery, Page 6, scroll down and there's the photo. Move your mouse onto the photo without clicking on it and a box comes up saying Bob and Randy, Clearwell Castle. I then went onto the Clearwell Castle website and it does look similar to The Tower of London. I think the photo was taken buy Dave Tangye, Ozzy's one time minder.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:Hi Gaz,Fozzy41 wrote: I'm sure it was taken at Clearwell Castle, Gloucesteshire.

This was the reply from Bob Daisley about the "Clearwell Castle question"skezza wrote:
Hi Bob,
I noticed in the gallery a photo of you with Randy Rhoads you are both beside a castle (photo above) where abouts was this ? I heard that you went to London with Randy sightseeing and did you stay with him when he stayed in Wales was it Monmouth Gwent over the Christmas period in 1979 while you were recording the Blizzard LP ?? Could you let us know about this time together. What you's did in London and did you's spend Christmas together.Regards Shaun
To Shaun, The photo of Randy and me was Clearwell Castle where we did preproduction before recording the first Blizzard album in March, 1980. We were in Monmouth together but that was prior to Clearwell, we were writing and auditioning drummers in Monmouth late 1979. It was early 1980 that we went into the studio at Ridge Farm, Surrey, to record the first Blizzard album. I lived in London at that time and Randy returned to America for Christmas 1979 and came back to continue writing and auditioning drummers early 1980 until we found Lee Kerslake. I hope this clears things up a bit for you.
All the best,
Bob.
This shines a bit more light on franks postcard as to what was happening at the time leading up to Christmas and early 1980.

This wasn't the first time that Ozzy had been to Clearwell Castle. He recorded with Black Sabbath back in the 70's during Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.I'm not 100% if they actually recorded the album here or recorded the basic ideas for the LP.It also mentions that all the rooms in the castle had old large four poster beds,i wonder if the inside photo on the gatefold sleeve of Sabbath Bloody...was taking in one of those rooms. This was mentioned in the BS book How Black was our Sabbath

Yeah Frank i done a bit of detective work it sort of brings the postcard alive for the times and places visited etc.Plus i was convinced that the photo with Bob Daisley was taken at the Tower of London but it was Clearwell Castle.frank wrote:shaun, so cool you were able to get background from bob daisley. like pieces to a puzzle.
