Actually The Mighty Quinn was recorded in the studio... I've never heard a live version, however...The Mighty Quinn wrote:it's a song he played with quiet riot but never recorded in a studioIlusive wrote:I've never heard of "Mighty Quinn". What is it on? Anyway I chose Diary although Mr Crowley and Steal Away are close behind.
my favorite is revelation

I Don
I Don't Know (i didn't pick this song)
every song randy made was good
but i would pick Diary for 2 reasons
1. this was the first song i downloaded
2.this was the first randy song i learned to play, i also taught it in one of my classes and they were blown away.
P.s. the song mighty quinn is really called Quinn The Eskimo
thats probially why Rocky Rhoads never heard of the song you should change that error

Just to clarify, RockyRhoads knows the song, rocky_rhoads said he'd never heard of it... why someone else has my screen name without the capital letters is beyond me.
Also for the record, it was originally written/recorded by Bob Dylan. It was then covered by Manfred Mann who titled it Mighty Quinn (Quinn the Eskimo) - this is the version usually heard on the radio. It's kinda cool to listen to the original and the Manfred Mann version and the Quiet Riot version back to back to back hear how Randy "made it his"...

top faves..no question about it.I don't know what it is about
GTR but it is a meaningful song that I feel Randy put so much
heart & soul into..but he did that with all his material

I haven't looked at this thread in ages, and now that I am, I'm wondering why The Mighty Quinn (or Quinn the Eskimo) is on the list, being a cover of someoneelses song?
Picking Up the Pieces is also an excellent QR song. I believe that would have been a hit, had it been supported by a record company that believed in the band.

Obviously they're all so good, and depending on moods etc, but for the moment I'm going with Revelation. It was great just recently to hear him discussing it in one of the seminars as well. A true showcase of his epic and dynamic style, I never tire of it. Crowley and Diary are hot on the heels though. I could go on but Ill stop there
