Shred1. That was awesome. As a Randy fan/music fan that was like punk fused with progressive rock, wrapped in an insane singer's package, for lack of words. I dug it. It did make me think of QR. I probably have Randy on the brain but the guitarist reminded me of Kevin DeBrow's mime B/W costume but it was the mime on guitar! I'm thinking late 70's? It was sort of the tubes or pre-tubes because they were a visual band too, I believe from Canada. Or at least that's what I thought. Music can make me cry or give shivers down my spine. Music should give you a vibe either way.

I'm surprised no one didn't call me on the Randy Rhoads years. The cd was put out on Rhino. Rhino used to be a bootleg outfit that went legit (book:Bootleg the secret recording industry - good read). Then I remembered they put it out on vinyl, only in Korea.

No wonder why sahb was kept so secretive- they were copied extensively here in the states. Thanks for that shred cos not only is that some tasty original ish, it it also fills in a lot of blanks as to where some big acts got ideas:)

And I ought to be publicly flogged for not givin some love to Mr Frank Zappa as another artist that was copied extensively in my previous posting! My sincerest apologies to everyone as one should be offended!

Nice to see SAHB getting some love here!
They were truely original and innovative. Anything from polkas to crunchy metal.
Great players, and a frontman that made you pay attention.
Sensational.

cheers

I wud like to think that RR fans are open minded but discerning when it comes to one's taste for music and talent- and the SAHB shud be right up our alley:) listening to Amos Moses or Delilah told me that Mr Bon Scott must've liked em, too. And gee how about that face paint and didn't Kevin do the mime thing too? IMHO the influence of the SAHB is quite evident in American music in the latter 70's but now that I'm thinking of it- I bet the SAHB loved Zappa:)

Anyway thanks again shred cos SAHB is some tasty original shit:)

Hi guys, as the editor and co-publisher of the book I can tell you that this chapter DOES need to be taken in the context it is, which is Chapter 13. It is very cool that I've had little more than some clean-up work and re-arranging to do on this book. One of the things that really suck about celeb books is that it's so painfully obvious that there was a ghost writer. Sometimes ghost writers are used because the artist is lazy, sometimes to add sizzle. This book has plenty of energy and sizzle, just remember that Kelly's relationship with Kevin does indeed change. In fact, as a massive fan of his almighty howl, Kevin Dubrow was one of the main reasons I wanted to take on this book. I adore him and you will love the later chapters in which he and Kelly reconnect, spurred on by their mutual friendship with Randy. As for Jodi, perhaps Kelly could have used a different term but let's be real that's probably EXACTLY how he put it to Randy and this is not the last time Jodi is mentioned in the book either. Thanks everyone, John.

In Kelly's own words, Kevin Dubrow ends up being the "hero of the entire story", single handedly being the one person to stand up and oppose a very negative force in the landscape that popped up in more recent years.

I'm sure Randy could have been the hero but the story moves forward after he left this earth and features twists and turns Randy could have never imagined (for instance, the documentary controversy)
