I found these photos from the 1985 DOTG gig the same one as the Metallica clip on youtube. This is from Y&T's set who appeared on the bill higher then Metallica. If you look in the pitt you can see a camera on a tri pod. It looks like the same angle the Metallica clip was shot from. I cannot see a cameraman so i'm assuming only Metallica was filmed ?. But it does go to show you that if a show is filmed professionaly you can see the obvious camera etc.

^ see the tripod here. The first photo was the last song of the set. So the camera must of been there all the time. Very noticable and something you wouldn't overlook.

Shaun, these do show that it likely that we can see pro equipment if it is there but it does not dismiss the fact that it is likely that cameras were filming Randy off stage to the right or left and from a position out front.
I now know that donington 1984 was recorded though I am yet to see fottage of ot and I never saw any cameras either pro OR audience/crew.
Footage of DOTG from amature (non pro) cameras has been seen of other acts and like the Pasaic NJ, both venues seemed to record everything yet no Ozzy footage! same old story! did Sharon purchase th footage? if so it is still somewhere ready to be seen and long before the news of Dave's and the film Ozzy plans to use in the up-coming 30th aniversary editions. I remember reading from Zakk Wylde that he had seen footage that wasn't any that we had already seen!
I don't believe footage is new to Ozzy or that he just forgot it was filmed I think he has kept tight lipped on this for whatever reason but the film is outthere hiding away from us.
I still think the DOTG show was filmed in some fashion as was Portvale and Pasaic.

And not forgeting what Dave had to say regarding 2 pro shot shows in the USA on the first half of the 81 tour.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

Ian why go with the people who are never going to open there eyes and see that the stage at the DOTG '81 doesn't have a single camera, cameraman. Possibley someone in that huge crowd with a super 8. But as far as a pro shot show ?. Like i've already mentioned i've seen enough photos from the shows to see no evidence of cameras on stage or off. The people who went to the gigs are saying 'i didn't see any cameras'. But you can live in hope that something is out there. I'd rather people went looking for footage with a better lead, instead of living on pure speculation that the show was filmed. The HMH Portvale 1981 is another show that i'm sure it wasn't pro shot no visible signs of a camera crew etc. Apart from the small clip of Randy talking to Motorhead and the pure speculation that if the small clip is out there. Why isn't the rest of the Motorhead and Ozzy shows available. Simple, no signs of any one with a visible camera in the crowd on stage or backstage. The people who went to the gig are in the same frame of mind that it wasn't filmed. Like you mentioned about the Donington footage it could be out there but if its sitting in someones garage rotting away.I wouldn't be happy with a poorly made super 8 shot film i've seen the clips on youtube they are bad. If any new footage comes to light i hope its a well filmed multi camera angled footage. Why do fans get all worked up over a dvd that will be watched a couple of times and forgottin about. I've got some great Live music that i pull out on the rare occasion and give it a play. New footage isn't going to be like the coming of Christ or losing your virginity. We'll watch it and say that was great that was dissapointing after all the hype etc. Whatever i do hope something good comes out in the anniversary Blizzard release. But i'd be pissed to see some shit filmed super 8 crap.

Shaun, I fully agree but still don't see that it wasn't filmed somewhere somehow!

I would love to see some new film but to be honest I would sooner have extra audio! I love audio much more than footage and if I am honest I have watched what we already have perhaps 3 times each in total and have not seen anything in 5 years.

almost 30 years later we have to be greatful for what we have BUT!, had we taken the official word of NO footage filmed by a camera crew as true we would not have pursued Dave and had him confirm that pro shot footage was created.

The fact we as a fan base keep on pushing and do not accept the story given to us is what will keep Randy's legacy going and had we not done so he would have faded even further than he has.
