and also when hes with ozzy here he does it alot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxGuLsVpUXo its obviously a distorted wah not a wahed distortion

i dont understand how thats clearly after distortion? its clearly before distortion in every aspect. his amp is distorting and his distortion pedal is giving him a slight boost. so its before distortion in every aspect. he really doesnt use his pedals for a lot of distortion so the wah has to be before the amp (before distortion.)

acctually the pic doesnt show anything. theres a selector pedal (i think) at the beginning. that may be guitar-selector-wah-distortion-flang-amp

Sure!

+1 Compared the soundclips and the sweep is not that strong when it's placed before the dist+, less sweep in the high end as opposed when placed after.

Also, if he wanted to use it early in the chain before the dist+ he would have designed his pedal board differently (I would assume) and have it placed it more to the right instead of outer left.

for the pedalboard he did something very smart and put input and outputs on the exterior of it, so his pedal placement wouldnt matter inside

haha dude you know pedals only go from  left to right not from right to left you cant just plug it in the opposite way that screws every thing up this is what you have to do

if it was like this lik yours was at first

amp-----out-d-in-----out-w-in------guitar

you have to do this

amp-----out-w-in----out-d-in-------guitar

this is what you did in the vid

guitar------out-d-in------out-w-in----guitar

you just changed which side you plugged into pedals dont work like that
you cant plug a guitar into the output slot in the pedal and the amp into the input all pedals clearly say on them the input side thats the side that should lead to your guitar and the output side should lead to your amp lol and in the vid you just switched which side you plugged into for the amp and the guitar

it also balances out that thing where you pull back the wah and it muffles the sound if you have more distortion from your amp than your pedal not the other way around that makes it sound like crap

:P
Well... first in the soundclips you posted I think the 'Randy' wah effect was closer when you hooked up the wah after the dist+. Like you said the effect is much stronger then. (to me as well) I think the effect would be even bigger if you'd placed an EQ set for midboost right after the dist+. And then after the EQ the wah.

Secondly: when designing a pedal board it makes sense one is considering the sequence of the effects in the signal chain first. In that respect it's understandable that his wah was placed outer left in his pedal board if the wah pedal was meant to be as last pedal in the signal chain. (assuming the signal goes from right to left)
Of course Eagle has a point there that his pedals could be wired internal very different. Who knows! Maybe Pete Holmes?

Your right dutchman about it being stronger when I eq the wah I usually have it guitar to disortion plus to eq to wah just not now because I'm at my grandparents using a epiphone practice amp I do agree also that you never know because it was an enclosed pedalboard my tone also sounds way better the way ihave it setup it muffles my tone when my wah is off and it is before the distortion
