This is the news we all believed to be true coming from the person who really knows, great news indeed.Gus wrote:Mentioned today over at TK-
Ozzy has twitted the following: "Just watched never before seen footage of Randy and me from 1981. I'm speechless. I will share with you later this year on a live DVD."

Do you think more Randy Rhoads footage exists?

Double bonus indeed!cableguyxx wrote:A double bonus would be that has never been on audio boot. A new show to boot would be great! The Flying Dutchman wrote:Well, it's about time huh?![]()
I very badly hope it will be that St Louis Show from may 22nd '81 just 11 days after Cleveland. Randy was in great shape then!

It can't be "After Hours" right.....?

I can't believe that Ozzy would have forgotten that he had seen this footage a few years back so lets keep our fingers well and truely crossed

When I was chatting with Matt about this I couldn't help but think when the O's realise the money making potential of an RR show they will 100% be thinking about what else they have stored away.
A while ago it had been suggested that they release Southampton 1980 and from what I was told that one came close. I can't imagine that audio not raising money for the Rhoads and Osbourne family if public reception to a forth coming release of a 1981 show is popular.
If I were Sharon as Ozzy becomes to old to tour and record I would stagger releasing material (audio and video) of Randy and Jake, ane we know so much is available for them to use.

IF this actually happens and we finally get any amount of Randy live footage, I'll be curious about the sales figures. On these boards it is assumed that Randy is a HUGE financial draw, I have doubts on that. So I'd like to see how well this DVD sells, IF it actually happens.
Oh, and IF there really is more footage in cardboard boxes in the Osbourne's garage, I'd like to see the show that the soundcheck footage came from...

If I had to guess, I'd say this is something like that lintball guy talked about years ago, and that it's been sitting in some fan or higher up's closet, just waiting for the right time. If that's the case, kudos to whomever came forward. I cannot believe it's after hours or anything else that's already been out there in public for years. Ozzy may have forgotten, but there is no way in hell Sharon or anyone close to the Osbourne camp would have overlooked that.
I don't know if it's a possibility or not, but what if the O's trumped Peter on the ET footage that was reportedly found, and is talking about that? Supposedly they are not involved with the film, so why would they let him use that footage if they can use it? Speculation of course, but it does make sense.
PS....South Hampton would be sweeeet
We'd finally get to hear the solo that fades out just before it gets going on the Crowley EP. Honestly, I hope they go ape-shit once Ozzy's done recording and touring and get that box of tapes, and anything else available, not to mention all of the other incarnations of they band they probably have tons of material from.

I suspect that this is NOT 'After Hours'
The 'right time' as Cableguy says, is an interesting thought. I've noticed in recent years a bunch of shows that became publicly available approx. 29-30 years after being filmed. ie. Lynyrd Skynyrd, New Jersey, '77; Rush, New Jersey, '76 and Led Zeppelin, Seattle, '77. There seems to be something about that time period: rumors about a show for a while, and then all of a sudden, after like 29 years, its in the public domain. Which will be true of this ultimate Randy footage also. I'm guessing there's an expiration of something of a legal nature. Whatever the case, I'm very happy and still in a bit of shock....I'm kind of expecting Ashton Kutcher to burst in and say 'you've just been punk'd dude'

But we still have David Tangye's statement about an '81 live show that was filmed pro-shot.cableguyxx wrote:I don't know if it's a possibility or not, but what if the O's trumped Peter on the ET footage that was reportedly found, and is talking about that? I wonder IF this board maybe played a role too?
Notice this:
- all kind of rumors/problems regarding the upcomming doc.....
- then we got confirmed here by David Tangye that a '81 show had been filmed (maybe St. Louis)
- then after another few weeks Romeorose comes with the news a pro shot show will be released with the doc (coincidence?)
- still all kind of rumors/problems about the doc, even rumors that the Rhoads rejected it for the third time
- then some people involved (maybe Kelly Garni?) read here about that 'St. Louis show' & stepped to the Osbournes/Rhoads what's this all about?
- since there are so many problems with the doc maybe time to get in touch with the Osbournes? After all those years something must be done.... so the Rhoads finally gave green light to the Osbournes and plan B was born.
- then after that Ozzy suddenly comes with his latest statement about unseen Randy footage from '81 to be released later this year
Logic or just coincidence?
I see a pattern, and if true I won't be suprised if the doc from Peter won't be released at all......
But still, the Osbournes have all the resources/material needed to create the ultimate Randy doc as only they can. And they can easily buy the doc from Peter too and use the interesting parts to come along with the '81 show.
The winner of the rat race is still a rat.
