While it's true that Sultans of Swing and Bark at the Moon don't sound alike (as songs), they do have some similar guitar licks. I think that's what distortionplus is hearing - those licks Jake plays at the end of Bark are not too far removed from what Mark Knopfler plays at the end of Sultans. Totally different genre and guitar sound, of course, but Knopfler was very highly regarded as a player in the late 70's-early 80's (I'm pretty sure he won the Best New Talent award from the readers of Guitar Player a couple of years before Randy), so he may have had some influence.

Thanks Cornelies, yes that's what I was talking about. Also part of chorus when OZZY sings something like "Hey yeah bark at the moon" and when Knopfler sings "We are the sultans, the sultans of swing. The preceding notes played after these lyric lines are very similar either in key or it's a phrasing thing. Don't know but they sound similar to me.
