Re: Day on the Green Possible Camera Angle
Well,I havent watched yet,but that Metallica at DOTG was off Cliff em All & was an amateur Bootleg,so not Pro.But a few months back someone here posted a Skynard & Frampton footage from DOTG 77 & that was Pro-Shot && wonderful Quality.I watched looking for other Cameraguys but they did a good job of avoiding eachother. They are Trained for this.(Cameramen)
But watching the SOTD /Diary tour Video (w/Ozzys most amazing sounding vocals on a Live recording, granted theyre Overdubbed)
And I couldnt see Any of the Cameras in any of the shots! Maiden too at the Hammersmith Odeon on 3-19-83 (And thats a gig I'd Love to see prosot w/Randy) There are Many Many 70s on era footage there & Ozzy & Randy played there I think twice?

I cannot see the 'wood for the tree's' that comes to mind. If you do a bit of detective work it all comes clear. I laugh at the amount of people who just will not take no for an answer. This DOTG show was an event that anyone would be overjoyed to have been there. But the people who seen this gig in the flesh the crowd, the band, the photographers etc. I think if a big fuck off camera crew filmed this gig it wouldn't of been done in secret. You'd see the guys on stage and they'd have swinging camera booms for overhead shots etc. But they'll still see something in a blurry photograph that could be a possible camera ?. So all the people who went to the show overlooked it and went home and forgot about it ?. Come on be realistic if any one of the bands at this gig had been filmed it would give you reason to seak out the footage. Stop chasing your tails, and if anything ever comes from this concert it will be still pics and super 8 film, nothing pro shot.

Re: Day on the Green Possible Camera Angle
I think there is still a possilibitly DOTG '81 was filmed somehow. But not pro-shot.
Check out this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAr9hUiW ... re=related
Nice quality but not really pro quality imo. It looks like they are cams from the festival itself just to capture things. (but not in pro quality) It comes over to me like that. The way the cams move isn't really pro, too shaky.
It's filmed with only two cams. One straight acrross the stage from distance. This could be very well from a cam positioned in or near the soundboard area, like the sounboard area there was in '81.......
Also I wonder if the camera filming from the right would be visible in existing photo's from this gig?
The pic from the sounboard area I showed before in this thread looks a bit suspicous. It would be no suprise to me if there was a simple festival camera filming from there.
*someone from the sound crew in '81 (Chuck Weisner?) who was there can maybe remember if they filmed from the soundboard area there.....?

Re: Day on the Green Possible Camera Angle
this gives me greater confidence that it was filmed, look at the show from the audience you cant see cameras on the stage and the idea that they filkmed all years but didn't bother in 1981 seems stupid and makes no sense.
This just shows how we are better to keep hoping and not just accept what we are told.

I know this is a little off subject, but speaking of pictures with cameras in them, and I'll specifically direct this to you Ian, there is a picture from 84 Donington while Ozzy is performing that shows a crew filiming with at least one tv camera. Has anyone else seen it (picture) and has anyone ever seen any footage from this show, I know there is at least some footage of some of the other bands on that bill around but I have never found any on Ozzy.

Yeah ive seen that footage from 84 and 86, they were on youtube a few years back but now theyve vanished off there i think...
Also has any body got photos from the soundcheck(texas) footage gig that would be interestin to look for cameras.

I saw cameras at the 1986 Donington but they were only visible for one band and you didnt see them at all afterwards.tedeeoo wrote:I know this is a little off subject, but speaking of pictures with cameras in them, and I'll specifically direct this to you Ian, there is a picture from 84 Donington while Ozzy is performing that shows a crew filiming with at least one tv camera. Both Ozzt sets for the Donington shows were recorded because I know people who have seen the full 1984 show but they say the quality is very very bad! and the 1986 footage is great but I have only seen a little of it on youTube a while ago.
Ozzys 1996 Donington was audience recorded on audio and video which were both good quality.
The Donington 2002 was audio pro recorded and 3 tracks were played on the radio and I have never heard them since.
The Black Sabbath 2006 show was pro video show and can be seen on you tube.
Bothe the 1984 and 1986 Donington shows were recorded for the radio and were played months later on radio in very edited versions.

Re: Day on the Green Possible Camera Angle
Excellent point Duch!! I think thats Probibal that Camera wouldve been right in the tent w/the soundboard that a few have pointed out.I Admit I dont wanna take No for an answer,
its just so hard to concieve because look at all the 10000s of RR pics they played well over 100 gigs w/Randy ,& that being such a HUGE show, why wouldnt they (promoters) tappe such an investment?? Even just one Camera is Rad!!! Those cameraguys too are trained to stay out of Pictures & other cameras areas.Just a thought.
P.S. That is ProShot, just One Cam from a distance!
