I will buy whatever they put out no matter what. If they put out something slightly disappointing, I'm sure I'll buy it anyway. But I'm sure it will ROCK!!!!
Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
It's not so funny that the DOC and museum get the axe but I'm not taking part in a focus group that wants to know what fans would pay. God forbid a fan saves an item for years, taking care of it and wants to sell it because he needs money. If we want to remember Randy, have some overpriced wine and that is fine but whiskey's quicker!

Question: Are any of the proceeds going towards the Rhoads Scholarship?
Maybe it's just the mom in me, but I feel anything related to the sell of RR material should have a percentage set aside for scholastic purposes. This also keeps his memory alive.

Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
I imagine it il cost me £20 each for the delux cds and probably £20ish rupee for the dvd, so ill pay £60-80 depending on how its packaged.
I hope we dont get tat(plecs) and other nonsense i dont need.

Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
If folks are a little nervous as to how much this box might cost, I did see that Sony Legacy did a box of 70 (!) Miles Davis albums and the asking price was $350.
The Rhoads box at best would be 4 discs audio and 1 or 2 discs of video. I would guess no less that $50 and no more than $80.

Where has it been said that this Blizzard Diary rerelease is going to be something big i.e more then a couple of discs ?. A box set, a bumper hamper with extra t-shirts guitar picks ?. Sometimes peoples expectations of something ? don't let your imagination run riot please. This is going to be a simple package of 3 discs 2 audio and 1 dvd. Have you seen the rereleased Speak of.. DVD. I should imagine it'll be something very much like that one (Below). They may put out a delux collectors edition thats a few £££$$$$ more. This could be the one with the Live show speculate speculate we'll buy it anyway what shape or form.

Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
Shaun,
Have you heard any kind of feedback on that Speak/Diary DVD? I was curious if it was the full show, (Ozzy's between song banter has been nixed from most copies out there), or is it just a polished up bootleg?
I am under the assumption that Ozzy has nothing to do with this release.
Thanks
Tom

Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
I don't know if this has been sold to an independent label so they can do what they want with it. I know companys like amazon & play.com are distributing it. But thats as much as i know. It's been sold as a Diary of a Madman 1982 show which it is but i could imagine some people being fooled into thinking it's a RR show.
This is what they have to say about this over at Amazon : This isn't available to buy until 6th September 2010 but you can pre order it.
Blizzard Of Ozz is a concert film from the Ozzy Osbourne tour of 1982; a tour that had its fair share of success and tragedy. This DVD release features a concert filmed in Irvine California for television. At the time Ozzy Osbourne was touring to promote his second solo album Diary of A Madman a tour that was marred by the tragic death of guitarist Randy Rhoads in March 1982 in a freak flying accident. By June 12th 1982 the band were scheduled to play at the Irvine Meadows amphitheatre Irvine, California. By this time Brad Gillis who had replaced Randy Rhoads had been playing with the band for almost two months and had a number of high profile concerts under his belt including a radio broadcast. The set list which was a typical Ozzy set list of the time included numbers from both solo albums (Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman) including Over The Mountain, Flying High Again, Crazy Train, I Dont Know , Goodbye To Romance, Suicide Solution and culminating with three Black Sabbath classics (Iron Man, Children Of The Grave and Paranoid). The concert was televised and then subsequently released on home video in a slightly edited format. More recently the DVD has been available in Japan and elsewhere. This deluxe package however includes not only the DVD but also the CD of the concert and a reproduction programme from the tour. Tracklist: 1. Over The Mountain 2. Mr. Crowley 3. Crazy Train 4. Revelation (Mother Earth) 5. Steal Away 6. Suicide Solution 7. Goodbye to Romance 8. I Don't Know 9. Believer 10. Flying High Again 11. Children Of The Grave 12. Paranoid

I'll pay whatever I have to. As long as it's Randy and it's new, I'll get it. Nobody should say anything different.
I think I'll buy 2 of whatever they're selling.

Re: Come November...What Would You Pay?
Same as most i will pay what ever it takes.
Another good example of a 30th anniversary set is bruce springsteens born to run.

Its a great box set containing the full live show from bruces 1975 show in hammersmith london, up to that point only parts of it was available on bootleg video.
another dvd containing a 90 minute documentary called wings for wheels : the making of born to run and contained lots of footage from in the studio in 75 recording the album plus concert footage from that time and lots of interviews.
plus the digitally remaster cd of the born to run album.
Again as i said before on other threads about quiet riot, bruce springsteen was the same back in 75 as well, ok he did have 2 albums released prior to this release but before he released this album he was on the brink of loosing his record contract, so here we have footage from 1975, I dont care what format its shot in, where it came from, i just want footage.
Im a film producer myself and do restoration work on old footage, as long as we are talking first or second generation footage it will be great.
Bring on november i've waited 20 years for this and cant wait.
Jas.
