So which band are you talking about that supported Ozzy. Would we know this guys name if you name dropped it ?.Trigger wrote:You caught me out!! I am trying to trace this chap, we haven't spoken in many years and back in the early 1980's we were rivals and were sought after by many bands. We swapped around from band to band even ending up with one of those bands ending up supporting Ozzy for a few shows back in the late 1980's
The gent concerned was about 10 years older than me and I believed got a phone call about the auditions
Are these yellow Ozzy picks from the Randy Ozzy Era?

Thank you Oth...this was what I was getting at in my posts about the picks being from the Bernie Torme Brad Gillis time period...I was emailed this info by two other people yesterday and your claim is identical, I did not know they had been sold online for around 20$, thank you all for your info, especially Guitar Idol and Oth! The mystery is solved, albeit a small oneoth wrote:Well that pick was designed/used for brad gillis....i think it was specific to the speak of the devil tour...and people have sold them as brad gillis picks on ebay for 20$ or so plenty of times so whoever bought this didnt do any homework and paid about 700 too much.....

So they are being misrepresented by the seller as Randy era picks...they are not! They were Brad Gillis picks even though I have no evidence that Brad ever used them onstage, there are pics with Brad using Brown picks onstage, however they are not fakes. They were probably used by Brad to just throw from the stage or as stock picks in rehearsal studio. They probably were given to this guy and he is saying SECOND HAND where they were Randy OZZ era pick to cover his Arse!
Thanks for your help guys
Ed

Myself and the other drummer played in different early formations of the band that went on to support Ozzy, they only supported Ozzy for about 4 shows and went on to play the USA under there own steam! They did less well that we all believed they would.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:So which band are you talking about that supported Ozzy. I am at present tracing the drummer (my rival & the guitarist I know had the pick) I have located old friends of both of them and I am waiting for them to sign up here. We do have a family member of one of them reading UR so its only a matter of time. we might then have the first interview with an auditionee from the early pre-Lee days.
