I agree Matt

I have not put 'Blizzard' on in years, but 'I play 'Diary' on all the key dates and its often in the car.

It's limited edition now, but if it sells well it'll be a normal production model, you can bet on that.

To really seal the deal and top it off, Marshall should make the 4x12 cabs with a special designed 12" driver with the ALtec specs (and metal dust caps.)
Oh bring me some CHUNKY PUDDING, and bring it RIGHT NOW!!!

The more I think about "signature amps" the more I think they're ridiculous. As much as I love Randy, Marshall will rape people out of lots and LOTS of money. Since this is limited edition, the price will sky rocket even more. Whatever. I guess Marshall has to make money somehow and if charging zillions with the Randy names does it, cool. Good luck to those who try and get these amps.

Hm.. If Delores / the Rhoads family allowed Marshall to produce these amps, they should have known at wich price Marshall would sell them.. So the price wont be that high.. No?

I would think so, but I guess Marshall has the say at the end of the day when it comes to their prices; it doesn't matter what the head of the estate says.

From the pics it doesn't look those cabs are loaded with Altecs...... According Kevin Dubrow these speakers were essential.

Agree 100%
Hence the Zakk Wylde signature amp, Zakk does not use that amp on stage. He still uses a regular 2203 Marshall with some mods. I knew somebody who bought that signature amp and wasn't happy at all and sold it quickly. (and lost some money...)
It's all about the $$$$ nowadays......

I would be a bit cautious though......:
Long ago someone who talked to Randy about his amps said this:
2 were running slaved 1 was a back up cuz the older white plexi liked to eat transformers
So if true and they really got the job done you will have a unreliable superlead which occasionally needs a new transformer!
Hence Randy had 4 different Marshall superleads. So if the white superlead was indeed unreliable one would expect his 'main' amp was probably not the white superlead. Big question is which superlead was his 'main' amp then? Check out the "After Hours" show, check the powerswitches of both amps very carefully. Only the powerswich led of the black superlead is lightning there. It looks he is not using the white superlead there. (unless the led of the powerswitch was damnaged)
I'm sure Pete Mertons could tell a lot more about this. (hope he will not be censored to protect the selling of this RR signature amp....)

"2 were running slaved"
If this means a dummy load setup (like EVH did) one needs at least two superleads to get the job done. If so, you are not gonna get the sound with just one single amp.....

And last but least, visually I already see some differences with the orignal amp Randy had. And it's impossible for us to check how close it is 'internal' to Randy's original. (they should publice all those pics they made about Randy's amp so people can verify..... )

However, if I had plenty $$$$ for sure I would give that amp a try! It looks very cool! 8)
With maybe some litlle tuning I'm sure it will sound great!

+1

the whole thing is madness really. Lets imagine everyone on this site is rich, what are we going to do? Rush out to get a limited edition amp? i know i wouldn't im through with stressing myself out with things like that. I hate limited edition products and i cant be assed with jumping through hoops like that. Aside from being a randy fan, i have no reason to buy it. I wonder how many randy fans like us will end up with one?

Marshal dont need this to make a lot of money of course they allready make stacks thanks to their larger than life reputation. Thats the whole reason i bought a marshal a couple of years back and why people continue to look to marshal for there dream amp.

im going out on a limb here, to be truthfull i really dont rate marshal as being much better than most other amp manufacturers.

Now that this amp is built, let's hope the info leaks out so we can hotrod our own Marshall's to sound like these.

You could always sweet talk an amp repair man to give up the schematics as soon as he gets them from the factory. In fact, you can find schematics for nearly any amp online and for free. I'm sure the 1959RR will be no exception eventually.
