Finished reading it tonight. I really don't feel as though I could do it justice by writing a review but I have no hesitation in saying that I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. I found reading about Randy's early years particularly interesting and I really didn't think I would. There's fascinating interviews with Pete Cornish, Frank Santa Cruz, Tami Forward and Grover Jackson. Tellingly, there are quotes from Peter Margolis, not only about his time as Randy's student but also describing his documentary in the present tense and not as something that is dead and buried. He's writing a book about the experience too.

I wanna order it from Amazon as they are quick shippers to APO's but... when I look at the amazon website it says 1-3 months! I dont want to wait that long!

Anyone in the US got thier copy from Amazon? I might just buy from a vender in their market place who says its in stock.

We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on February 06 2011 (Order# xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx). We've listed the item(s) listed below with the expected delivery date(s):

Joel McIver, Zakk Wylde "Crazy Train: The High Life and Tragic Death of Randy Rhoads"
Estimated arrival date: June 29 2011 - July 25 2011
Funny, just a couple days after I got the July 17 delivery notice from Amazon.ca, they sent me this same notice. :?

I just cancelled it and ordered it from Amazon UK, seeing how they have stock now. There's only one copy left in stock now though!

Is the book at a chain like Borders or Barnes and Noble?

Barnes & Noble doesn't list it as available, while Borders carries it, but is back-ordered. I just checked Chapters (Canadian chain) and they actually claim to have stock now! So maybe there's another chain that carries it then?

Sorry about the uncertainty re US suppliers, gentlemen. I have chased the publishers to find out details.

And thanks for the kind review above!

Joel,
I just got my copy out of the mailbox, so those of us in N. America who ordered through amazon.UK should start seeing their copies within the week 8)
I'm off to get into it.
I agree Bongo, that first pic got a big smile from me :D

Great news, thanks for letting me know. The publishers told me that Amazon has probably just run out of its initial stocks and puts up that message while new stocks are on the way. So you won't have to wait much longer.

Here's an interview I did with Gibson Guitars about the book: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/F ... 0624-2011/
